  • OOPS I put wrong date on topic!!!
    Hello Did not do good in eating department yesterday.Took hubby out for his birthday and then stopped at grocery store and got cake and ice cream. We did do our walk and I was almost 1 minute faster.This time feet didn't starting hurting so bad.
    we have to stop by grandaughtrs birthday party later this morning.More temptations.Then we are going to go to big flea market later.We have a lot of them in this area.
    Penny Don't think you are alone in being tired of way you look.I went the othet day to get some clothes and left.All the really cute stuff is in small sizes.To get nice large sizes you usually pay large prices.And it amazes me how so many of clothes are hot material.Don't they know a lot of us fat people get hot easy.Or at least I do.But hopefully you will get your trip to mexico.Who cares how you look there.You don't know the people there so maybe you can relax and forget about your weight.
    Christie---You are brave to go to a fish fry.I would be in big trouble.It has taken me a while to stop frying anything.{i have no cooking oil in house,just some olive oil
    I was raised on fried fish.{My daddy was a commercial fisherman in addition to sponger}I LOVE it.I have finally got where I like it grilled or baked.But I have no will power when exposed to fried fish.But great you went with your Dad.My parents are both gone and I still wish I had spent more time with them.
    Susie--hope you did ok at mall.That is also a bad place for us all.Tooooooo many temptations.But doesn't it seem like we all have to face so many tempations.Food is everywhere!!!!
    Sherri-It's a shame you have to go so far to get to a WEndy's with salad bar.Have you tried checking the internet to see if there is a closer one that maybe you don't know about.
    Looks like another beautiful day here.My husband is going off to have breakfast and I am going to do my exercises.I still don't know how good the ad-doer is going to do.But I have noticed my lower back has stopped hurting at night.The ab-doer is only change I have made.I can not get down on floor to do stomach exercises{Can't get back up } With this you are sitting and working all stomach muscles and stretching back.
    Well I better get busy.

  • good morning tops pals! this is a first..to get up on a sunday morning and get on the computer.lol i don't usually get here till the evening.

    eleni-i was catching up on past threads and came across the one about your race. i agree with sherri. don't feel bad because you were last. you set a goal and accomplished it which is a major achievement. i would never have even entered. i am proud of your motivation. also, like she said keep on truckin' and you'll get better with time.

    penny- i am tired of the same old look also. i recently had all my hair cut off and i have heard lots of compliments on it. i actually got the style idea from that full-figured model "emme". i absolutely love her hairstyle on her book and had the same thing done. i figured it was a cut made for a fuller face so it would work for me and it did.

    sherri- we don't have any salad bars at our wendy's anymore either. the chain took all of them out around here because they weren't making any money. it's hard to find a good salad bar anymore. we have a steakhouse here that has a really good one here, but you have to be carefull because it has lots of other goodies on it too.

    as for me... i did end up with a terrible cold and am still battling it. i am lucky because most everyone i know has the flu. mine is a simple cold. however, i don't have much motivation to get up and about.

    we had an ice storm here last nite and it very yucky out so i guess i can rest and couch it today. nurse the cold and watch the race.

    i hope everyone has a good sunday and since i'm on here so early for a change i will check back later.

    Good morning. Kathy we had the same ice storm here. But it is still in progress. No church today. The roads are way to icy to go. So we are here today also.
    I know what you mean about your hair. I have gotten a lot of compliments on my hair also. I guess it is a time for short hair. We are all getting our hair cut.LOL But it is nice to have a change.
    As far as the wendy's goes. They all have salad bars but not the superbar with the tacos and stuff on them. That is the bad foods I know but it is soooo good. There are only 2 in my area. One in clifton park, NY and the other in bennington Vt. I live right in the middle. So it is basically the same distants to go to either one. But we didn't end up going anyway. We went to a small dinner instead. Which was a better deal. I didn't get as much fat for dinner. But I did overdo it.

    Good for you for getting back out there. I also know what you mean about the sizes in clothes. I am smaller now. But when I was at my largest I was a size 18 and you can never find anything in the bigger sizes that looks good. It is all the smaller sizes that have the nice clothes. Plus at the second hand stores you can never find the larger sizes. So that is a plus of losing weight. Then I will be able to get more clothes and not look like a slob. I hate it. I don't have very many clothes. But I am in my very old clothes now that I outgrew before. But once I get past this size I will have to buy more because I only have 2 pairs of pants in the size 12's. So I get to go shopping. So that is a goal for me. Once I get over this hump of the gains I will start to lose again and I will reach my easter goal no matter what. That is to be a true size 12 by easter. I can do it. I do have 2 size 12 pants now that I can wear. But I can't fit into all the size 12's. That is the goal to be able to pick up any pair of pants and be able to fit into them no matter the cut. Then I will be a true size 12.

  • Hi Everyone! Well, today is not only the end of the week, but also a new day! I am trying to keep myself positive here... I too ate fried fish last night. I didn't eat too many but I had treat night Friday night so that was not good. But today is a new day. I am doing great so far. Do you ever realize that almost everyday that you eat at least 1 thing that you shouldn't? I do it more than I realize. That is why I started the food journal. I have been recording EVERYTHING I eat. And I am ashamed at how much I comsume. I think more days go by that I cheat than don't. Thanks for letting me vent! LOL Take care Penny

  • Hi Penny,

    Glad that you are on track again today. Me too. It has been a great day for me also. I am with you. I have been eating something everyday that I shouldn't also. I really have to stop that. But for today I have not done that. I am getting ready to make dinner here.
    But all I had for lunch was a salad today. I got some ham yesterday so I could put it in my salad and I used 1 pc of ff american cheese also. To add something to it. I get the bag lettuce with the carrots and cabbage. It isn't the same as having a fresh salad in the summer here. The vegetables are terrible here. I love cucumbers but they taste terrible now and are soft and wilted to.
    How is it going trying new fruits and veggies? What have you tried so far that is new to you?

    You are doing a great job. And it says a lot that your are writing everything down again. I do that to but I need to start paying attention to it. Except for the past 2 days I have been within my points but not making healthy choices and it really does make a difference.

    I am glad that I started today off on a new foot. I did some low key exercises also today and I am sore from it. I can't do too much exercise and the aerobics are out until at least wednesday. But at least I am getting in some exercise. But it is going to be hard to build back up to where I was. I have to start all over again basically. Because I am not going to be able to move tomorrow I don't think. I get to go back to work tomorrow also. So that is good for me.

    Ladies lets make it a great week. I know we all haven't had a great weekend. But tomorrow is a new day and we can all start fresh tomorrow. We can still have a loss this week if we work at it for the rest of the week.

    The past 2 days have been busy around here but have gotten a lot done. Have succeeded with my exercise and gee, it feels good. I'm going to try to stay off my rear end....it's amazing how good I feel not sitting around.

    Eleni, glad you did your walk a bit faster. Keep it up, now watch out for all those temptations out there. You are stronger than them!

    Kathy, take care of your cold and if you don't feel like doing anything, that's ok, let your body get it's strength back. Don't slip - slide away if you go outdoors.

    Penny, I think you are very wise to write everything down you are eating. It really shows us how much we do put in our mouths. Unfortunately, I think we all cheat...that's why we have weight problems. Next time you have fried fish, try taking most of the breading off. Allow yourself a little if you must, but get rid of most of the unneeded fat and breading.

    Sherri, I am so glad that you are back on track with your eating and doing a little exercise. Just don't overdo the activity to make things worse. Sounds like you enjoyed you dinner at the diner last eve, but I'm glad you're doing better today. Yes, WE will have a better week this week.

    I'm getting ready to start supper. Went through the freezer in the garage and brought in a bunch of good meats, so meals this week should be decent. Tonight are salmon steaks. I'm hoping this pkg is as good as the last - very meaty and no fishy taste. Will serve them with a dijon sauce, mixed oriental vegies, and possibly some rice. Lots of times if we have a lot of good meat/fish, I don't do a starch. Just asked hubby and he wants tater-tots, so I will pass on those.

    Tomorrow is Monday and this will be a good week for all of us in the way of eating and moving our bodies. Just heard about all the terrible tornados and those that didn't survive....so I am thanking the dear Lord that I don't have to deal with what those poor folk don't have left. Let's count our blessings, everyone...we can deal with our weight struggles.
