Question about fat intake

  • I've taken a break from a different low carb diet (specifically, one that emphasizes low fat along with high protein and low carb intake). I would like to try Atkins because I think I may have an easier time sticking to it. However, I am not clear on how the body can burn IT'S OWN FAT when I will be adding in so much additional fat. Does anyone know how that works?

    Thanks for your help.
  • I think you have to read the book carefully, as Jersey Girl reminds us all the time. However, eating fat or anything else does not prevent you from burning fat. But you will have to work harder to convert foods to carbs for fuel, and that involves burning fat as a fuel source. Its about teaching your body to burn fat.
