New to WW

  • Hi everyone!!!
I'm starting WW on Jan 2/03 and am looking for support between meetings. I've never been to WW and am not sure what to expect. Just reading these posts is motivational for me. I need someone to chat with or email on a regular basis and to battle the weight together.

  • Hey roxy, I live in Denver, CO but have been to Canada a few times. Where abouts are you?

Not sure if I'm the best one for motivation since I've been doing WW on and off since about 1980, but I certainly know the ins and outs of the program. At least I've never given up and still have high hopes of hitting goal in 2003. I believe my email info is in my profile, feel free.

Just checked and the email addy is not there. It's [email protected]
  • Hi Roxy,

You're also welcome to come join us on the "Long Run" threads. Great group of women. Come on in!
  • hi roxy good luck on doing weight watcher i have been doing it since march i have lost 35 pounds
  • Hey Roxy! Good luck at WW. I have been doing it for one year and I have ups and downs but it is important to stick with it. One main thing I have learned is that one day can't ruin everything, just like the weight didn't come on all in one day (it sure does seem like it tho huh?!). Basically what I mean is if you are having a birthday party and there will be cake and ice cream, it is ok to have a small slice of cake and a small scoop of ice cream. I don't follow points much, I can't remember all that stuff, but a lot of it is pretty obvious. I mean, a snickers bar is a lot of points, versus a 2 points bar. If you get the right one, they taste similar. Also, if you are able, attend the meetings. They are only once a week so it's not like it's an everyday thing. I have learned between the leader and the other members it is SO helpful. It's kind of like this board, but you can see the people lol. Again I wish you the best of luck and the first step, joining WW, is the hardest one because you have to admit you have a problem. After that it's (mostly) downhill. Expect to hit plateus, but don't quit. Just remember what got me thru my first year, This too shall pass. If you ever want to talk feel free to e-mail me any time!
  • It worked for me!!
Hi Roxy...I am on WW. I started it a little over 2 years ago and in 19months..I lost 136 pounds. I count my points everyday and know pretty much what each thing is. It wasn't always easy....giving up something you dont want to give up is never easy.I am addicted to food... I battle this everyday....and..I know that if I go off of WW..I will gain it back. For me..this is NOT an option.I would love to be an email buddy....and I know we could help each other....just because I've lost the weight...does not mean that I dont need support. I do...everyday.This is a lifelong battle for me. I wish you all the luck in the world.
