New to this site...but NOT to dieting!

  • Hi all! Just thought I'd pop in and say hello and get to know you all as I embark on yet ANOTHER attempt to lose weight.

I'm 39, married (no kids) and I started on this journey with 158 lbs to lose. That's a whole person... and depending on how tall, that could be an entire fat person!

I got into low carbing about 10 years ago.. I lost 85 lbs on Atkins..gained it back with interest... up down up down up down.. last year I lost 75 and gained it back so THIS time I'm trying something different.

I eat about 900 cals a day, I eat six times a day, and I try to limit my carbs at each meal to no more than 15. I have type 2 diabetes so this is critically important. I will be 40 in December and I would LOVE to start my 40's weighing fewer than 200 lbs.

I'm looking forward to sharing triumphs and tears with all of you.

I started this plan on January 15th, 2011. Here are my stats

    39 yo
    Female
    5'8"

    308/264/150
  • Welcome. I am new to this forum as well so I want to say welcome and good luck.
However, I couldn't help but notice the calorie count you listed. That seems a little low to me. I have always read/heard/been told that you need at least 1200 calories to fuel your body. I know a girl who would limit herself to 800-900 and she stayed sick. As soon as she started eating a little bit more she started feeling better. I am no doctor and can't say anything for certain or professionally. I only speak from what I have seen/heard in my life.
