Good Morning Ladies,
Hope the sun is shining brightly in your neighborhood. It was -10 degrees this morning when I got up to deal with the turkey at 5:30 am...........but now the blue sky with white snow is just beautiful..........and peaceful!!
Put the turkey in last night for 7.5 hours. It is a 23 pound buzzard and I could not believe how it just fell off the bones. The whole thing fell apart lifting it out of the roaster. Rescueing the dressing was interesting. LOL!!! I didn't use a knife at all and I have never done that. Didn't sleep too much, kept waking wondering what the smell was. We use a woodburner, so the first thing was 'smoke' that came to mind, but then I realized it smelt toooooooo goooooooooood.
We are leaving today to go to MIL so I won't be around till Monday. I have the whole meal cooked, but am cheating on the pie. Bought a frozen apple and will bake it right before we eat so it will be warm. We're having sweet potatos and since they are so close in flavor to pumpkin pie, I opted for a different dessert.
MIL was in hospital last week, is 92 yo and not sure how long she will be in her home. Poor dh was gone all last week trying to get some of her affairs in order. What an ordeal!!!!!! Ladies, if your parents haven't done it, try to get them to do it ASAP. In fact we ALL need to do it. We never know when something will happen. I have told dh for the past 10 yrs to make sure.....but, of course, he never followed up and now they can possibly lose the house.
I'm going to weigh in early today since I won't be here for the TOPS meeting this eve. I know I have gained, but I really need to keep check on it due to this 'food season'. Really would like to have a loss next Wed.
Have a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING!!!!!!! We do have a lot to be THANKFUL for!!!! Will chat when I get back. BLESS YOU ALL!!!

THANKSGIVING EVE
Hi Ladies
Hope everyone is doing ok. I know I havent been on here for a few days. But boy am I glad last week is over. It was sooooo busy. Hubby with PT, a lady who goes to our church her mother passed away. So the church done dinner for them. Had to go to school one day. Then Sat our church had their soup bean and cornbread and bake sale. So Fri I made cornbread and made hot dog chili. Monday was hubby's last day of PT YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad that is over. Now maybe I can get something done at home. LOL. Now its time to do the Christmas shopping.
Is everyone ready for tomorrow. I guess I am. We are suppose to eat at my parents farm. But it will depend on the weather. We got a little snow last night. But not as much as they said. I am fixing green beans, cranberry salad, and pumpkin pie. But with the salad I am going to use the fat free sour cream and sugar free jello and with the pumpkin pie I am going to use egg beaters and splenda. Mom is doing the turkey and stuffing and mash potatoes. Dont know what sisters are doing yet. My dad makes cornbread stuffing. I dont really care for regular cornbread. But this stuffing is good. Puts peppers and onions and celery and all kinds of spices in it. YUM-YUM. That will be my down fall tomorrow.
Well we just had weigh in last night. The weather was kinda bad. Was snowing. Suppose to have got 7 inches of snow. But only got 3. Which is good. I did lose a pound. Wasnt going to go. But told hubby. The roads arent too bad yet and only having weigh in. Hubby said as long as we dont stay we can go. But I wanted to weigh in. Because I was afraid if I didnt I would use that as an excuse to eat. Then have a great big gain next week. I was surprised that I lost 1 lb. I thought I had gained or turtled. But was tickled with the loss. So it made it worth going. Now I know that I have to be good tomorrow. Because I want a loss next week.
Well I better get off here. Need to get my pies made. I am thinking of everyone. I hope everyone had a loss this week. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
