I am having very little success trying to lose weight while on these meds. I am on cymbalta, weaning off slowly, and welbutrin. It seems like every pound is a month long struggle. I am counting calories, working out, drinking water.

I have lost weight on other meds but for some reason it's not happening this time.

Does anyone have any success stories while on SNRI's or SSRI's? I am getting discouraged!

I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, but for most of this year, I've been on Zoloft, and while i haven't lost that much weight, for the first time ever, I haven't gained weight over the year. Surely, that's an SSRI success?

Hi Pamela, I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling. Big hugs. If it makes you feel better, I've lost 40 lbs on the SSRI Lexapro this year. Another thing that has helped me with weight loss as well as the depression is weaning myself off of sugar. Not just in desserts, but the hidden sugars like in Cow's milk, etc. Hope this helps! You will overcome this.

I've lost 33 pounds in 4 months on zoloft. I just hit goal. calorie counting, weightlifting, walking on treadmill, and going to overeater's anonymous.

I just started taking Citalopram, which is very similar to Lexapro. I haven't been weighing myself... but since I am not stuffing my face to ease anxiety, I am hoping it will HELP me lose weight. It is definitely affecting my appetite - it has been much less since I started. We shall see!

I've lost about 50 pounds while taking Wellbutrin!

I take 300mg of Wellbutrin daily - and I've lost 86lbs since May.

I'm on zoloft and resperidal, I've lost 40 pounds. It's taken a while but that's mostly due to my own sweet weaknesses.

I started 20mg of Prozac about 4 weeks ago...have lost 9 pounds since then. I am chalking it up to a higher motivation level and less emotional eating.
