Anyone else taken a fancy to raw?

  • I'm no raw food fanatic or anything, but it really interested me so I've pretty much changed my eating to about 60% raw foods. (By that I mean a lot of fruits and veggies uncooked no raw meat! ) So basically All day long I eat fruits and veggies and nuts and seeds and then when I get home I have a home cooked meal So far, things I've noticed, My skin is softer! and my eyes are clearer? weird huh. And Not as many aches and pains. I'm sure there is more I can't think of but yeah. Just wondering if anyone else has taken interest in it?
  • I love reading raw food/lifestyle blogs and trying out raw recipes. Ever tried raw carrot cake? It's delicious haha. I don't have a certain percentage I aim for, but I definitely try to have loads of raw fruits and veggies throughout my day. They just look more colourful and happy that way.
  • I have always been intrigued by the raw diet but I love my warm home cooked meals. If I were to do the raw thing I would do the exact same way you are. Raw all day until dinner. I have a coworker who switched to an all raw diet and lost about 50 lbs. She has been maintaining for about 10 years now.
  • I've never really been a big raw food fan, the occasional veg raw and very occasional fruit, but I do like a little bit of raw beef

I prefer my beef still mooing...

I have a lot if raw fruits and veggies during the day, and I've noticed the changes that you describe, but I'm more likely to attribute it to the fact that I'm eating better, not that the food is raw.
  • I like sushi...but I couldn't do an all raw food diet. Not growing up in the Midwest. I do love sushi tho!

I like the idea of all raw foods up until dinner!
  • When I had my "A-HA" moment, I became very interested in the raw food diet. I did try a couple of stints as a raw foodist, but didn't end up following it. I will say that it really inspired my new way of eating. I took a lot of principles from it and formed my own plan. I do still believe that most people would benefit by aiming for more raw plants in their diets and to this day that has been my mainstay in keeping the weight off for so long. While being "raw" wasn't a necessity to the plan I evolved to, I probably consume more raw food than anything. Some days are more raw than others
