    to the December exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    In 2009 the 300+ club broke our 2007 record and exercised for 216,854 minutes. In 2010 we have ALREADY broken that record!! What will that new record be? It's going to take a lot of work from a lot of people to get it done! We invite you to join us!

    To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as
    Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes.

  • Goodness, do you see how close we are to 250k???? We can do this, but will have to work hard -- December is often the slowest exercise month around here!!!!

    My goal is 1200 minutes. I need to push myself.
  • I cleared 1000 minutes the last 2 months, so I'm gonna set my personal goal higher at 1200 minutes for December.
  • hey guys, for my first time i'm going to go for a conservative 900 (30 mins a day for the next 30 days)
  • Back to an attainable goal for the holiday month 650 minutes (that's 200 more than I was going to put initially but I want to push myself)
  • I am joining in for the first time. I am setting the ambitious goal of 1000 minutes.
  • I'm setting my happy goal of 3600 minutes. The 3000+ minute months are the ones that make me feel the best.

    Since I managed to get 1925 last month, I'm going to aim for 2000.

  • This will be my first exercise challenge, but I'm excited about it! I'm going to shoot for 500 minutes, because I do home health care and have several days out of the week where I'm with my client 24/7 and won't be able to exercise. That just means I'll have to do that much more on my days off!
