What's the deal with imitation crab?

  • I think I remember reading someplace that it has carbs. I thought it was just other fish pressed together and then "crab flavored". Anyone know? I'm eating some as a snack now.

    It has sugar and starches added. Remember to look at those ingredients on the label. You will find a lot of foods have sugar added to them. I think they add it to the imitation crab to give it that sweet flavor like crab has naturally.
