What herbs do you take?

  • I'm trying to find some more natural ways to help my PCOS symptoms along with diet and exercise. Does anyone have any recommendations and actually seen improvements by taking it? Any help/direction would be appreciated!
  • Hey girl

I've been taking Biotin; although my hair is still thin numerous people have told me they see a difference on the crown of my head.

B12 is helping with energy as well.. no matter how much sleep I get I'm always exhausted!

I'm going to write you a PM tomorrow, but after 6.5 hours of class I'm pooped! Talk to you tomorrow
  • For PCOS I take:
    Cinnamon (instead of Metformin)
    Saw Palmetto (instead of Spiro)

    For metabolism (and more):
    B6
    Calcium-Magnesium-Phosphorus

    For just general purposes:
    Flaxseed oil
    Multi-vitamin

I've found that the Cinnamon and Saw Palmetto control my symptoms as well as any nasty chemical drugs IF I'm following a diet/exercise routine.
  • I saw a difference in insulin metabolism when taking chelated chromium on a daily basis.
  • This is what I'm taking:

    General Health:
Multivitamin for women (before I was taking a general multivitamin)
    Super-B complex
    Cranberry pills

    PCOS:
    Magnesium Stearate 400 mg
    Chromium polynicotinate 800 mg
    Fish Oil Capsules (2)
    Vitamin D2 prescription (50,000 iu)

    Knee:
    Glucosamine/Chrodroitin (2)
  • - 1 tsp cinnamon and 2 tbsp flaxseed in my oatmeal
    - fish oil
    - B complex pill
  • I'm taking a Multi-Vitamin formulated for women (so extra calcium, Vitamin D, etc...).

I'm also taking Cinnamon with Chromium in it. It takes a while of taking it before you start to see the effects, but I've noticed that it definitely helps control my blood sugar levels. I'm reaching low blood sugars faster (which is actually a good thing since mine were always high) since I've started it. Of course that also helps me eat more regularly. Just remember to take it with food...if you don't you'll get a nasty stomach ache!
