  • Here is the list I keep for reference:
    • cut up veggies (pepper strips, broccoli/cauliflower florets, celery) with hummus
    • yogurt with nuts or tomatoes/peppers or with some Crystal Light if I want something sweet
    • roasted green beans (just beans, oil and salt - not too much fat in them) or kale
    • tuna or salmon salad in romaine lettuce leaves
    • cucumber rounds with light cream cheese and smoked salmon
    • celery with peanut butter or almond butter or Laughing Cow light cheese
    • caprese salad - tomatoes and mozzarella cheese (OK, that has cheese in it!) with chopped basil and a drizzle of olive oil
    • Tofurkey (or sliced turkey) slices wrapped around light cream cheese, chopped green onion, some pepper strips (roasted or fresh) and arugula
    • a serving of whatever random beans I have prepared
    • a small smoothie made from whatever I have around
  • Check out Snacks in the Recipe Section for lots of ideas. If you have ideas, please post them there.
  • I am also terrible with snacks, don't really enjoy cheese that much. Sometimes I just make a smaller meal. But I really enjoy string cheese, cut up and microwaved for about a minute, it ends up crunchy! And I eat that with pickles.

Peanut butter and celery is also a fav.

  • I find that salads or dill pickles help me stay on track with my snacks. Also, if you're living with someone who is not on the plan with you, try to schedule snack times near theirs so you aren't tempted. Most cravings will go away with having something in your mouth, chew multiple times and think of how much work you'd have to do to take off the extra unneeded calories that the other person is consuming.
Drink water, flavored water if it's sweets that you're craving. Hunger is often mistaken for thirst.
Alas, we all have a desire (especially certain times of the month for some of us) to indulge in chocolate. With the allotted 75-100 calories of leeway for treats, I suggest consuming dark chocolate (70% +) this has the added benefits everyone is talking about. I personally LOVE dark chocolate, the darker the better (also keep in mind the darker the more bitter) but you can get used to it!
  • My faves are hummus with veggies, a tablespoon of nut butter or a SF FF hazelnut latte at Starbucks.
  • I think my SF jello helps when I am craving something sweet.........

Nuts help when I am wanting something a bit more filling.

Guess I kinda go in spurts with different things....
