New to Forums [20 yo male]

  • For the past few months I've been trying to lose the pounds, so far it's been a pretty pitiful attempt. Nevertheless, I've decided to step it up a notch and try to make a commitment.

    Some details are;
    Male
    5'10" tall
    228lbs as of this morning
    20 years old

    On summer break from school...and working at DOMINOS!

    My starting weight was about 237.7, so I've lost 9.7lbs over the 3ish months. Sad, but at least it was going down and not up.


    I'll leave it at that and I look forward to being part of this community.

  • I used to work at Dominoes! I feel your pain...your delicious, hot, buttery pain, lol. My weakness was the cheese bread...I would make my own with extra extra cheese and put ham and a bunch of other junk on it...sigh, you took me down memory lane!

    and there are many people in their twenties, often of this forum: 3FC 20 somethings .

    Congrats on your loss so far. Do you have an eating plan yet? Or an exercise plan?
  • Welcome! I'm new too but I can relate. I'm 23 and I'm working at a cafe and I work by myself, so when it is slow, I'm just surrounded by sandwiches and candy and pop and more, all that I can have for free!

  • Welcome, Shaun! I am a newbie also, just joined. Congrats on the weight loss. I guess sometimes we have to remember it took a while to put it on, it'll take a while to get it back off. At least the scale is headed in the right direction.
  • I don't have an eating plan set in stone, nor an exercise plan. Basically I've cut or severely limited unhealthy foods high in all the bad stuff and just have eaten less in general.

    As for exercise, I've started off somewhat slow with 20 minuets of cardio on a stationary bike at fairly high resistance and walking about 2 miles a day with my dog. Also I've been doing weights on a home gym and free weights.

    Thanks for all the responses guys. It's been the deciding factor in being active on this forum compared to another site I posted a duplicate on.

    Oh geez, me too. I am very weak when it comes to cheesy pizza! Great way to build willpower though, face your demons straight in the eye.

    Oh I know! Mmm pizzaIMEANSALAD! Hopefully Shaun isn't as tempted by his job as I was. I worked at McDonalds years ago and all of the free food was a diet killer.
