Going to try counting calories but...

  • So I've been on WW for a while but I wanna try calorie counting, I've tried it before but didn't stick to it, didn't know how many calories etc. I read that for my weight I should start at 1500 calories a day. While on WW I get 23 points a day, each point is roughly 50 cals so that means I was eating about 1150 cals a day, and I found I wasn't satisfied and it would lead to me bingeing. But I;m afraid that if I up my cals to 1500 I will gain or won't lose.
  • your body takes some time to get used to it. Ive tried ww and i personally like cc better. I just upped my cals and gained a pound but your body takes some time to get used to it. you may gain at first maybe a pound or 2 but within a few weeks youll start losing and wont binge.
  • A WW point is worth anywhere from 20 - 90 calories, plus they build in an extra 250 calories for zero point foods and veggies. So your 23 points a day probably equaled more than 1150 calories. If you're curious, enter one of your WW days into a calorie counting program and see how many calories you were actually eating.

I think 1500 is a good place for you to start. Give it a few weeks and then tweak if necessary.
  • I agree with Meg, 1500 is a good place to start and good luck!
  • Thanks everyone, I'm going to start at 1500 and see how it goes, I'm not going to weigh for two weeks though just in case I do gain a lb or two at first then I won't get discouraged.
