  • Good Morning Everyone...

Judy - I hope you don't mind that I started this weeks' thread; I'm having one of my rare insomniacal nights. It's 2:10 a.m. out west here! Did you make it to WW saturday?

Carla - too bad you couldn't get a sitter, but on the other hand it saved you from a possible overindulgence. Hope you had a good w/e.

Angel-eyes - hope you're finding yourself back on track, and that your technical troubles are resolved! You could change your password to something easy for you to remember! I just use cookies and get logged in automatically.

April - congratulations on your loss and for making it to your 10 lb milestone.

Cjane - welcome (back)! Must've been a while since you were here...I think I did my first "drop out" from the group just after Carla came back from Bolivia with Ana! Glad to have you join us.

Well I had a weekend worthy of forgetting. Had to work this w/e, we're undergoing accreditation at work M, T & W this week, so was frantically updating stuff in preparation. Don't know how many times I found myself at the evil vending machine with a chocolate bar in hand, but it wasn't pretty . Anyway it's pretty stressful. Duh...that could be why I'm wide awake in the middle of the night. Get a grip, Karen.

On a happy note, we're picking our puppy up after work on Tuesday!

Hope you're all having a terrific day!

    Karen (yawn)
  • Hi
Hi Merrylegs. Gosh...you and me up in the night.....lets talk!! Not a great weekend for me, I'm not feeling to well. I'm trying to shake a sore throat and also feeling very tired during the day because I'm not sleeping at night. Last night was a good one though....I only woke up 3x. I'm trying to eat well and stay within my limits. I eat on the lower pt level so I can have f.f icecream to get some relief of my sore throat. Needless to say I definitely don't feel like excersising......but fingers crossed for weigh in on Friday. Ohh....so nice to hear about you picking up the puppy soon. Our dog is now 6.5 yrs old but I remember the fun we used to have at the stage. One such memory was coming home to find 13 prs of my leather shoes eaten!!! I never did find some of the mates or heels. A word to the wise....don't forget about the advantages of a crate. After that little episode we started using it and she's been sweet ever since.
  • Hi all -

Angel-eyes - Sorry to hear you've been struggling too. Sounds like you're getting yourself back on track. I hope you're feeling better soon and are able to sleep better. I'm sure those three pounds were mostly water and you'll have nice results on the scale this Friday.

April - Congrats on your loss and on 10 pounds lost all in all.

Cjane - Welcome back. I did indeed adopt my daughter internationally, so you're remembering the right person.

Karen - I hope you're able to get a better night's sleep tonight. And I also hope that the work stress goes away soon. Just hang in there. I bet you're so excited to pick up the puppy!

We ended up going out after all on Saturday. It was a small group and a casual place, so we brought Ana with. Saturday morning was breakfast out with Ana's godparents. Last night it was dinner at my MIL's - not too much damage there. Tonight it's out with a friend. Then I think my eating out occasions cease for awhile, thank goodness. I really need to focus on eating right and when I go out so much it becomes very difficult for me. I'm not looking forward to weigh in on Wednesday, but I'll take my lumps and move on.

    Have a great day.

    Carla
  • Hi all! I just scanned everyone's posts (and last week's too) because this has been a nutso day at work.

Karen- sorry to hear about the weekend. Here's a {{{HUG}}} and hope that this week is better. Have fun with the puppy - we were at my parents yesterday to meet their new (9 wks old) kitten. What a cutie!

Angel eyes - I hope you are feeling better soon - I fought off a bug on Friday. Have you every used ecchinicea (sp??)

Carla - glad to hear your eating-out-occasions are done for a little bit. Good for you for planning to just weigh in on Wed and move on!

    CJane - welcome back.

I'm pleased to report I had a 0.2 loss on Saturday - very pleased because TOM came on Friday and I expected a gain. Unfortunately, although I did well at my sil's on Sat I had a little mini-binge on Sat evening and although I did well at my parents yesterday for breakfast and had a light dinner, I had a tiff with Tony and you guessed it.....

Still, I'm back on track. I did a 40 min cardio tape this morning. I have dinner with a friend on Wed and Fri we are going down to Chesapeake Bay country (coming back on Monday) so I'm going to try to position myself as good as I can. I won't be weighing in this weekend but I want to see a loss on the 19th.

Gotta fly. Have a great one!

  • Hi...

Survived Day one of accreditation without stuffing my face! Two days to go.

    Puppy day today!!!!!!!!

Will come back later...have a good day!

    Karen
  • woof woof.....!!!!
HAPPY PUPPY DAY MERRYLEGS!!!!.......who let the dogs out....who let the dogs out..... lol
  • Hi all -

Judy - Congrats on your loss! Terrific news in the face of TOM. I'm sorry to hear that the weekend presented some snacking challenges to you, but it sounds like you're firmly back on track.

LilBinky - Hmmm - it's a digital scale that also does body fat analysis. I believe the brand name is Thinner, but I could be wrong. I'll double check. It weighs in increments of .02 pounds and I'm very happy with it.

Karey - Yay for you! Here's wishing you a successful day two! Happy puppy day!

Dinner last night was actually pretty decent, food-wise. The cookies I consumed after were not. Tomorrow it's a new start and a rededication to the program and to exercise. I wish I didn't have to do this, but I do. I certainly don't want to go on blood pressure pills and I want my knees and ankles to start feeling better. So do it I will, even if I'm snarling all the way.

    Have a great day.

    Carla
  • AE - thanks for the seranade!

Carla - you can kick and scream as well as snarl if you feel like it! We'll help drag you along.

    Karen
  • LilBinkey - I'll have to check. It's digital and is pretty consistent although it's about 2 pounds less than the scale at my meeting. Welcome!

Karen - good for you for surviving day 1 of accreditation without eating through the stress! You go girl! Happy Puppy Day - I can't wait to hear about it.

Carla - sorry to hear about the cookies - they happen! Good for you for not letting that stop you rededicate yourself to the program and to exercise. I'm with Karen - snarl away - we'll bring you along!

I had a good day yesterday. I ended the day with a couple of food points in the bank and hope to do the same tonight. I'm having dinner with a friend tomorrow night and I don't know where we're going yet. I figure the more "cushion" I have the better.

    Have a good night!
    Judy
  • Good Morning all!

Got through day 2 of accreditation alive and well, forgot lunch and purse at home yesterday so I ended up digging through coat pockets and my desk to raise enough change to get a snickers bar. Not great, but that was lunch for 7 points.

We brought Jasper home late yesterday afternoon; he's adorable. The other two are coping well. Lucy follows him everywhere, and Gillis is more or less ignoring him. He cried piteously in his crate when we went to bed, so he ended up spending the night on our bed. Housetraining has been great so far; hasn't peed inside at all yet. I'll take a few digital pics later and post one.

Judy - forgot to congratulate you on your loss - way to go!!! Good for you with banking points; hope you enjoy your dinner out with your pal.

    Have a great day,

    Karen
  • Hi all,

Karen - I'm sure I will be kicking and screaming too. A Snicker's might not be the best lunch, but at least you got some protein via the nuts. I hope day three goes ok and that today you remembered your lunch. I can't wait to see a picture of Jasper!

Judy - Good for you for banking some points. Safety cushions are important when going out.

Well, I managed to put on 5 pounds since I promised my Dr. I would lose six. How perverse of me. I'm now thoroughly disgusted with myself and am determined to see this through. I got "suited up" for the exercise bike this morning, but my right knee was stiff and pushing the pedals was really straining it, so I decided not to risk it. I think that since I'm generally stiff first thing in the morning, I'm going to have to hold off on the bike until my body's warmed up for a couple of hours. This is going to present a challenge on the days that Ana's home, but I'm just going to have to work through it. I am not going on blood pressure pills in December - that's all there is to it.

    Have a great day.

  • Karen - congrats on making it through Day #2. Good for you for counting the points for the Snickers bar! LOL on Carla's comment about the protein! I can't wait to see pics of Jasper.

Carla - I can hear the determination in your voice - good for you. I'm certianly no expert but I have a lot of friends who have their kids in the room when they exercise - busy with something else, toys, books, videos, etc. Quite a few have said that their kids try to imitate them - you know, the good role model. Others get their exercise in once the kids are in bed. Just what I've heard. I know you will make it work for you - you just keep a healthy picture of yourself (sans blood pressure pills) in the front of your mind. You WILL do this!

So far, so good for this week. I had a good evening yesterday. I was feeling a little congested so I didn't attempt anything when I got home - of course, it being an "in the city day" the chances of my working out were small to nill! At least I managed to get a total of 5.5 food points in the bank. I'll be glad to have them for this evening. I'm meeting my friend on the corner of an area where there are a lot of restaurants and we're just going to pick one so I have no idea what I'm going to eat. I think I'll be OK though - one glass of wine and a pass on the bread basket.

Gotta run - have a great one!
    Judy
  • Judy - Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'd have no problem having Ana in the room with me when I exercise, except the basement really doesn't have a lot of room for her to play in right now. Good for you for having all those points in the bank! Enjoy your dinner tonight. No matter where you go, you're sure to be able to get some chicken or fish and planning on passing on the bread basket and enjoying one glass of wine sounds good.
  • Good morning ladies! It's been so crazy around here lately...it's hard to tell which way is up sometimes. Today is my official "redidcation" day ... Carla, I'm with you...not gonna go on any meds. My BP has always been okay, but lately my ankles are swollen at the end of the day (i'm working on about 120 lbs to lose) and the ankle thing is 1) terribly unattractive, and 2) pretty scary looking. Considering I'm not pregnant.. I don't like it!!!

You know... I thought maybe I should tell ya'll a little about myself, since we are getting to know each other! I am married and the mother of 2, a boy 13 and a girl 5. Both of whose birthdays are in November, 3 days apart! I am 35. I work full time, and I also go to school (online) for court reporting... my ultimate dream job. It's a busy life, but somebody has to do it!!!

Anybody feel like sharing about yourselves?

Karen - Isn't is cool to work a program that allows you to actually eat that snicker bar and just move on? You don't have to get that "I messed up, I might as well order a pizza" mentality with WW!!

Judy - You are an inspiration... your words of wisdom are always very helpful!

Well ya'll... I gotta go get ready for work.. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Are any of you ever online during the day? At work I usually have my Yahoo messenger on in the background... my screen name on that is "tngoober" feel free to add if me if you want!!

    Later!
