weightloss slowed down :(

  • I got so used to losing 1 pound a day for the first 2 weeks. now i only lost 1 pound in 3 days but i guess thats healthy weight loss so i cant be to mad. I just liked seeing the pound gone a day lol.
  • Frustrating eh? That first whooosh was awesome for me too, and now it's slowed hugely. I'm actually currently at about a pound a week (I was averaging between 2.5-4) and it's frustrating... but I just remind myself that it's a healthy way to lose, and that no matter what it's better than a gain!
  • Also remember that that 1 lb a day was most likely water weight.

    you are doing great!
  • Take measurements! You can lose inches but not pounds and vice-versa (obviously, they match up over time, but one may trail the other by a few weeks). It never ceases to amaze me how I can lose a couple inches off my waist in a week, and it always perks me up.

My only regret about this whole process is that I didn't start measuring from the beginning.
  • I think that initial weight loss is so important - it kinda gives you that "yeah! I can do this!" feeling. And then the water weight is off and reality sets in. But 2 pounds a week is still really good and any time the scale goes down, even a little, I'm happy.

I hate TOM of month too, especially the weight gain but I love that whooosh of weight loss after wards.

    Keep up the good work!
  • I take measurements and use the scale.

I think that slow and steady wins the race, as I've lost 4 pounds per week for a few weeks, now it's slowly been 1-2 or just 1. It's important to go slow, so you are able to maintaina nd not lose so fast your body gains it back the second you look at a cheeseburger!

I've been having plateaus, but I haven't gained anything back. good luck on your journey!
  • Thanks ladies. Im not upset i just liked the rapid weight loss lol
  • I hear you! I lost about 3 lbs a week pretty darn steadily for the first 4 months or so. Now it's slowed to about 1-2/week. I haven't had any serious plateaus though (knock on wood), just a couple of blips where I might be up a pound here or there then it comes back off. I weigh using my wii Fit, which is great because it charts your weigh ins on a graph. If I get discouraged when I have a "blip", I look at my big downward line and it makes me feel better!

It was definitely good having that initial fast weight loss though...made me motivated to keep going. Now that it's slowed down, it's a little discouraging, but I have come way too far to go back THERE!
