2 years out...I don't eat enough OR too much....I gain weight!

  • This is getting a little frustrating...I've heard that at 2 years or so out you body adjusts to the lower intake and you can gain weight. Well, I have been struggling to eat enough....and I've gained weight! Ok only about 5 lbs but still! One might think that I would lose when not eating enough. But, no…not me!

My Grandmother told a story of dieting all her life, eating 800 cals a day and staying 350lbs....she got so fed up that she gave up being so strict, started eating 1200 cals, and in about a year she was 140lbs!

I suppose that might mean I'm genetically predisposition for the "starvation mode" anyway...AND I'm 2 years out. Not sure! In any case, it's up the exercise and protein and I've been using "myplate" at livestrong.com, tracking my weight, calorie intake and exercise...keeping the numbers within 100 cals + - of my goal amount and its working...at least I'm not gaining anymore!

I am bound and determined NOT to give up on this!

  • I'm only out one year and I know what you mean you have to stay with it I think off and on because as we go living our lives we forget and slip back into old habits. My Dr. put me on BC pill to regulate my hormones but it has caused havic with my body my Iron is very loweven though I take a multi with iron and my sweets craving are through the roof. I gain 5 pound this month so after this round of piull I'm off just gonna let nature take it's course. I also will be uping my protien and adding exercise I've just had no energy and now I know why.
Goodluck to you, unfortunatly I think this is a forever fight but I'd rather have 5 pounds to lose than where I was a year ago
