Italian Restaurant Pizza HELP!

  • So excting things are happening for me this week, I'm graduating college on Thursday, and over the weekend I hit my goal weight and now I'm figuring out maintenance.

Anyway, I have plans to go to a really nice Italian Restaurant with my family after the big ceremony, and I'd really like to have a treat dinner and I've decided to get some pizza or what they call a pizzette. While I'm approaching the dinner as a 'cheat' meal, I'd still like to get the healthiest/lowest calorie option, and that's where you fabulous people all come in!

    Here are my options -

(I'm thinking they'll all be true italian, cooked in a wood burning oven, thin crust, etc)

    Spinach Ricotta
    garlic & sliced roma tomatoes

    Margherita
marinara, fresh mozzarella, basil, & EVOO

    Mediterranean White
spinach, roasted garlic, feta & sliced mushrooms

    Grilled Chicken
marinara, mozzarella, spinach, red onion (comes with prosciutto but I would get it with out))

    Quattro Formaggi
    fontina, gargonzola, mozzarella, & provolone

    Eggplant
    roma tomatoes & ricotta superfino

    BBQ
    chicken, fontina, & balsamic onion

And in case you want to suggest something else, the full menu is here - http://www.pizzicatoristorante.com/menuPHLdinner.htm

THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL INPUT!
  • I would guess and say the Spinach Ricotta will be the lowest in calorie, or maybe the Eggplant. I would say get whatever you want, it is your celebration. You could always eat half of the Pizza and have a salad too help fill up too.

    PS: Congrats on the graduation!!!
  • I'm guessing the Mediterranean White and Quattro Formaggi would have the most calories unless any of the others are using a white sauce (which again would be more caloric than red/marinara).
  • They all sound great to me, and Nelie's calorie assessment sounds right. I would probably do the Spinach Ricotta, the Margarita or the Grilled Chicken if it were me.
  • I would probably get the Margherita pizza eat a couple slices of that, then order a dinner salad and ask for a few ounces of grilled chicken to go on top. But on the other hand you are celebrating a huge accomplishment both in your school and weight so I would say get whatever sounds good, drink lots of water and get right back on plan the next meal.
  • Congrats for your two big goals!

I'm from Italy and here the Margherita is the mandatory choice during the diet
  • Looks like you deserve a 'Celebration Splurge' with losing all that Weight & Graduating! I'd say enjoy the day with Family & Freinds!
  • Thank you all so much for your input! I totally appreciate your opinions and thoughts! I think I'm going to end up ordering the margherita and probably a side salad if I can as well. It will be my first time having pizza in a restaurant since September! Definitely looking at it as a celebration, and the next day I'll be moving out of my apartment and road tripping back home, but still going right back to normal eating! I'm excited!
  • If you are treating yourself I would go with the one that you would like best regardless of calories. Ask your self this, if I am going over in calories would I prefer to get one that is lowest in calories but my least favorite which really means the extra calories didn't even bring me happiness or get the one that makes me happiest and then at least the calories weren't pointless and wasted. 300 - 400 either way is not going to make ANY difference in your weight loss / maintanence. Enjoy yourself.
  • Congrats on your awesome accomplishments!!!!
