I Just Didn't Know...stress

  • I just didn't know how stress could knock me for a loop! I have done very well with my new life. Eating right, working out 5 days a week since Jan.

    WELL taxes are due today! I have the money to pay them BUT it takes most of our "cushion" money. So last night I couldn't sleep AT ALL. I got out of bed at 2 am. Got on here to read anything I could to take my mind off things. DIDN'T WORK. I then went to the kitchen....

    I didn't do tooooo bad. I ate a bowl of special K then had a pack of peanut butter crackers. Went back to bed. The last time I looked at the clock was like 4 am. Had to get up at 8am at the latest. So you know what this brought in the scale this am 1 lb. up which makes me crazy because I did 45 min extra cardio everyday this week.

    Heres the problem all day I have been STARVING. I fell like IM STARVING at least. I have fought off the urge to just EAT and have 200 cal. left of 1600 cal. I'm just putting this out there so hopefully I can read it and talk myself off the edge. I know that sounds silly but thats really the way I have felt ALL DAY. ON THE EDGE of falling off plan.
  • Oh, you're not imagining things. The good news is that from what you describe, it's probably not permanent.

    Studies have shown that people who don't get enough sleep have high levels of a hormone called gherlin. Guess what high levels of gherlin cause? Hunger.

  • I had a nutjob day with my kid's school activities and though I started eating for weight loss, by afternoon I realized it was going to be bonkers, and I just told myself "Ok, do you best to stay sane, eat to maintain. No problem."
    And I managed it somehow.

    Tomorrow I will go back to eating for weight loss.
