NOT new but OMG do I need you like a newby!

  • RALLY LADIES! And please let me jusp right into your lives and discussions.

I have been here(3fc) doing this forever. I have lost and gained and lost and just started to gain again.

I lost 20 of the 50 I needed to lose. Now I have put 10 back on and I am done.

    DONE I TELL YOU!

I have a million plans that I have tried and a hundred variations of those but I am going to try really hard.

What I am sure of! I need friends. Really bad! Will you be my wl friend?
  • Oh I hear you! I don't know how many times I've lost this same 30-50 lbs. I'm new to 3fc, but definitely familiar with trying to lose weight. What is your plan of attack for those pesky pounds?
  • I know how easy it is to get frustrated, but you know that feeling when you step on the scale, and you've lost weight? How good it feels, well don't hinder your own motivation.

What ever plan you do, make it a consistent part of your day. That's one thing i have learned. Make it feel like your day isn't complete without it.

You cant give up, set backs are just life s little reminders that there is always something to keep striving for.
  • amhoffy- Weird... I was just reading your 20- somethings profile. Right now... I am getting ready for 3 days of meat and green veggies only. Then I plan on doing 3 veggies a day, 1 fruit, 3 proteins and 2 healthy starches. Also water water water. I know it works but when I go off plan... I GO WAY OFF!

Momma Ghost- Thanks. I think the reason I fell off for so long was because as hard as I was working... I wasn't seeing the scale move anymore for months. And as soon as Christmas came... the diet went out. I have tried some unhealthy ways to lose this winter but I am smarter than to think that it will stay off!

Thanks again ladies!!! Its so nice to have you!
  • That's my problem too... staying on plan takes such focus sometimes when everyone around you seems to be eating everything they want. Maybe its a contagious mentality, so I see skinny people eating badly, so I'll just take ONE bite. Well, one bite turns into ordering something I feel incredibly guilty about the next day and its a downward spiral from there haha. I'm done with that though. As frustrating as it is to stay on plan, its much easier than stepping on the scale only to gasp in horror and have the last few beer/sugar/carb/fat filled months flash through your mind. Was that too descriptive? haha I've been there... I'm still there actually, and I'm working on a change too. So, here's to feeling confident this summer!

    *CHEERS!*
    (with water, of course)
  • girl, i've done the whole lose-gain-lose-gain thing..and I'm right there with ya. NO MORE!! You've got a weight loss friend in me!
  • ya it's an on going pain in the booty for me!! lol I really want to commit and DO IT!! you have a friend in me too!! You don't have that much to lose at all your at my goal weight! you can do this!!
  • i'm here for you! just like the other ladies, i feel like i lose the same 15 pounds over & over again. i see my friends eating whatever they want (even though it's probably just a cheat meal), so i go off plan - & then that turns in to the next 3 days of me throwing health out the window! lol. we can do this!
  • You can do it. It's about lifestyle changes, surrounding yourself with people who have the same goal. Being healthy is hard, losing weight is tough..You can do it!!
  • I am in the same situation. Have been losing and gaining for the past 5 years or so. I have just joined Weight Watchers and have been consistently loosing. I think the pressure of having to jump on the scales every week and the extra support from members has a huge impact.

    Just a thought

    Good luck! Keep smiling!
  • so as awful as it sounds... its nice to hear other people going through the same things

and yes, i need wl buddies too!
  • Oh my god do I know how frustrating that is!!! Its so discouraging to gain back weight, it makes me want to just throw in the towel.

Glad you're still here and plugging away though. Theres something to be said about just posting here, you havent given up the fight yet!
  • My mom just sent me a forward with this saying on it:

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate
so much information and wisdom in our heads that when
there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest of our bodies.
So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy.

Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think,
Good grief, look how smart I am!

So, maybe we've all just been accumulating information. Thought I'd share
  • amhoffy I got that same email! My DH didn't find it very funny.. lol.

ajowens I have been there too.. I got all the way down to 135 a few years back and look where I have ended up now. It sucks to lose all that work, but what can you do? I can't reverse it, so I just have to start back over again.

I see you are a shortie too like me! That is the worst part for me I think. I have taller friends that weigh the same and look fantastic. But the weight all on this short bod isn't quite the same. Haha.
