Hi

  • Hello

Just thought I would say hi to everyone. I'm glad to be a part of this forum, and I have to say - this is the first time I've joined one, and I'm doing so now in the hope that being a part of a community can help me to lose weight.

Just a bit of background on myself, I'm now in my late 40s, I've had excess body fat ever since I was a kid, however because of my life situation, with a demanding low paying job and life as a parent, I never had the time or energy to succeed in losing all that excess weight. But as a result of having more time on my hands now, I've started going to the gym and have noted some significant changes already!.

But it can be difficult at times, and I've got nobody to support me. So a little support here on the forum would be much appreciated.

I'll be keeping you all informed of my progress.

    Until my next post

    Sammie Fields
  • Welcome! I understand well the life long struggle with weight issues. I'm new here myself and find the site very motivating. Sounds like you have a good exercise program underway . . . keep it up. Keep coming back to post and you will find the support you need when you need it.
  • Hi, thanks for the reply. Yeh, I have been exercising almost EVERY day! I feel amazing as a result, I feel somewhat slimmer and know that I look better, having received some comments. However I just took some photos of myself today and compared them to some photos of exactly 1 month ago, and they look almost exactly the same!!!!!

I wont give up though, there's more to living a healthy lifestyle than just losing weight, and I'm sure given more time I'll start seeing changes. I'm probably just losing fat from unnoticable areas including from around my internal organs. Persistence is key methinks!
  • Welcome, Sammie! Just keep it up and you will have a slimmer, buffer you. Trust the compliments the photos lie!
  • Thank you Renwomin. I suppose you're right. I'm quite confident things will work out. I've just started adding weight training to the mix, It seems cardio alone is just not enough.
