I knew it was a mistake putting it in my grocery cart when I saw it on sale. But I did, and then of course it called to me from the cupboard...
Now I COULD have just eaten the entire 2000 calorie jar by spoonfuls over the course of an afternoon, but I was not going to let "it" win. And the same frugal nature that bought it because it was on sale was not going to let me throw it away.
So here's how I won the battle -
I eat a cup of vanilla non-fat yogurt per day - 170 calories worth.
I went out and purchased plain non-fat yogurt with 110 calories per cup.
I sweetened 1 cup of that plain yogurt with 1 Tbs of Nutella = 210 calories/cup. Yes, 40 extra calories than my normal yogurt but this way I'm enjoying the taste of the Nutella 1 Tablespoon at a time. There is no way my self control would have stopped at eating 1 Tablespoon if I was eating it by the spoonful. But this is working for me and for the first time in my life there is a HALF jar of Nutella on my shelf after 8 days in my house!
