Hello from 2 obese people in one body....

  • New here and just wanting to say hey to the people that know what 300+ is like.

I am 27 and 355. Im not following a particular 'plan' just wanting to change my food habits, eat healthy and exercise my way to a healthier me. I know it wont happen overnight, i've been here, starting this many times. This time, i need to do this. I'm getting closer to 30 every hour and i don't want to hit my thirties in the 300's. I'd like to be around 175, for now.

Thats 180 lbs to lose. That looks terrible when you write it because a lot of people start out a journey like this weighing around 180 so i am essentially the size of 2 obese adults. One of them needs to go.
  • Hey Just, don't think of it as 180lbs, think of it as 20lbs, then the next 20lbs.... Sometimes focusing on the big picture isn't the best way. Small steps small goals. But it makes a cute title, LOL.

    Welcome to Chicks.
  • you can do it!
  • Welcome! You'll find lots of support here.
  • HI Just, Welcome to 3FC. There is a lot of support here and I hope you make yourself at home. We have a lot of Chickie's here who have lost a great deal of weight and are now maintaining it for quit some time. They were my inspiration when I started here. (They still are! ) I remember seeing one gal with a 165 pound lost avatar, and I remember thinking..."oh gosh, wouldn't that be wonderful stake to claim!"
Well, I made it, and it feels heavenly. You can do this. I would strongly urge you to come up with some kind of concrete eating plan though. Food IN is the key to long term weight loss. "Trying to eat better" doesn't always cut it...well, at least it didn't for me I should say. There will be times you can't get excercise in, and times that life is hectic, but if you have a plan...every day, of what you are going to put in your mouth, you will win the battle. Keep on posting, never give up.
  • Welcome..and we are here for you!
  • I have a wonderful visual for losing weight...5 lb bags of flour. I think about carrying a 5 lb bag of flour on my back and now it's gone. I've lost quite a few bags of flour now, but it all started with the first 5.

I think one of the keys to success is to come and post here often. We change when we go from just lurking around to become actively involved with the 300+ family.

Don't forget to become a part of the exercise thread....We've already broke two records this year...It works if you work it.

I look forward to seeing you around and getting to know you better.
