    Oh psssssst....my uncle went to school with Lou Costello (from Abbot & Costello), they actually have a statue of the man outside the school they attended.

    -New Jersey is a peninsula with 130 miles of coastline.
    -In the pristine upper northwest corner of the state, is the Appalachian
    Highlands region. The name is derived from the small portion of the Appalachian Mountain chain that passes through NJ, which includes the highest point in NJ is located in that region at High Point State Park.
    -Highlands, New Jersey has the highest elevation along the entire eastern seaboard, from Maine to Florida.
    -New Jersey has more racehorses than Kentucky.
    -The largest pine forest in the country is located in a protected area called the NJ Pine Barrens.
    -The NJ Devils Hockey team's name originated from the Pine Barrens State Forest legend of the "Jersey Devil."
    -New Jersey has more Cubans in Union City (1 sq. mi.) than Havana, Cuba.

    -North Jersey is the car theft capital of the world, with more cars stolen in Newark then any other city, even the 2 largest cities, NYC and LA put together. (As a result, if you live in Essex, where Newark is located, you pay several hundred dollars more annually for car insurance!)

    -New Jersey has the most diners in the world and is sometimes referred to as the diner capital of the world.

    -North Jersey has the most shopping malls in one area in the world with seven major shopping malls in a 25 square mile radius.
    -New Jersey is home to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
    -The Passaic River was the site of the first submarine ride by inventor John P. Holland.
    -New Jersey has over 50 resort cities and towns, some of the nations most famous, Asbury park, Wildwood, Atlantic City, Seaside Heights, Cape May.
    -New Jersey is a major seaport state with the largest seaport in the US located in Elizabeth.
    -New Jersey has the largest petroleum containment area outside of the Middle East Countries, also located in Elizabeth. (You can see it as you fly into Newark Airport.) You can smell it too eeek.
    -The light bulb, phonograph (record player), motion picture projector were invented by Thomas Edison in his Menlo Park laboratory.

    -The first seaplane was built in Keyport.
    -The first airmail to Chicago was started from Keyport.
    -The first phonograph records were made in Camden.
    -New Jersey is home to the Miss America pageant held in Atlantic City.
    -Atlantic City is where the street names came from for the game Monopoly.
    -Atlantic City has the longest boardwalk in the world.
    -The first Indian reservation was in New Jersey.
    -New Jersey has the tallest water tower in the world.
    -New Jersey is home to the Boy Scouts of America with its headquarters located in New Brunswick.
    -Two-thirds of the world's eggplants are grown in New Jersey.
    -New Jersey had the first Medical Center, Jersey City.
    -The Pulaski Sky Way (first sky way highway) from Jersey City to Newark.
    -The first tunnel under the Hudson River. (Holland Tunnel).
    -The invention and manufacturing of the Colt Revolver was in Paterson.
    -An episode based on the legendary Jersey Devil has been featured on the popular "X-Files" show on Fox Broadcasting. (Talk about tall tales.)

    -New Jersey has the densest system of highways and railroads in the US.
    -New Jersey is the only state where all its counties are classified as metropolitan areas.
    -New Jersey has the highest population density in the US an average 1,030 people per sq. mi., which is 13 times the national average.

    Sam's ummmmm I think its only legal if you eat them. But you know whats better than that. Tell em they are out of your Will and your taking all your money and going to Atlantic City where they have the longest board walk in the world haaaaaaaa. But you know there's nothing like the smell of sausage & peppers cooking when your down the shore walking around (check out Point Pleasant's board walk mmmmmmmmmmmm oh and the smell of french fries w/cheese.

    thanks for the facts. i think. and i remember that wonderful smell of sausage and peppers on seaside's boardwalk. instant heaven!!!!

    and, there's NOTHING in this world that will get me on the pulaski skyway!!! no way!!! the truck route is just fine with me!!

    oh, and here's another factoid. the meadowlands [where giants stadium is] is larger than the city of los angeles!

    and samnrosies' grandma... it's not legal to kill your adult children here. but as leenie pointed out, it's just fine to go spend all your money at the casino [or one of the zillions of malls] and make them support you for the rest of your life!!!!
