My biggest goal is not the number

  • I know goals are in number of your weight. But my biggest goal is for my gut to know longer hang over my pants and jeans. Seriously I am so sick of that extra chub sitting on my waistline.

Everytime I try on shirts I just hate it.
  • I have a "muffin top" too!! That is an awesome goal!! I have my long term goal (which is a #) but I will really be happy when my clothes get baggy! That will be a real achievement!! I am with you on this one!!
  • I agree with you. I've always thought a better goal is when you measure by inches, not by weight.I mean, what about when you get some muscle on your bones? Just because you gain a pound it doesn't mean it was fat, sometimes its just muscle you get from working out and lifting weights.

I think people would be better off if they measured inches and not pounds.
  • Yeah its totally about inches.

I use to be in the Military and I had to loose weight to get in. In boot camp I lost a total of 9lbs thats it. But my body was so much more muscular coming out then in and I was toned and inches wise I was far less. I am muscular so I hate going by numbers.
  • I totally understand that. I've always had a smaller waist, but since turning 30 that has changed.
What I really want is to be in a size 10 jeans...and comfortably!
  • I call it my spare tire...I totally hear ya! I just really want to fit into my 34" waisted TH jeans again...that's my goal! They're waiting for me in the closet...

Me too! I only lost 2 pounds in boot camp, but dropped 2 whole sizes (12 to an 8!). I also got my hair cut off (long, bad story) and was at least 2 shades darker in tan. I was wearing sunglasses when my folks picked me up and I looked SO DIFFERENT, they drove right past me...

Of course that was many, many years ago...can I go to boot camp again? JUST KIDDING!!!!
  • My big goal is too get back in my jeans from a few years ago no matter what weight that is.

    AFChick that is awesome!
  • Good goal LoveBrad .....

I would love to be able to walk without my thighs rubbing together ....
  • I don't own a scale and I have no plans to buy one any time soon so I'm going to have to go by clothing size. I have a propensity towards bulimia and I am afraid to get all obsessed with a number.
  • I don't own a scale either and wont get one. I think there are to many things that effect your weight and I don't want to get obsessed with something I can't control. I would much prefer to go by inches.
  • I understand the bulimia issue. I have and still struggle with it for about fifteen years now. One day at a time. I now try to take twenty minutes before a binge or make plans on what I'd like to spend the money on other than food. I'm also vain enough to not want the puffy face! But, it is a struggle. My main goal is to reach and maintain a healthy weight range without binging and purging.

    one for every five pounds!!

  • By weight they say the ideal weight for a woman at 5'5" is 134 lbs. My goal is 145 because of the muscle I have.

When I was at my best my weight fluctuated between 144 and 148 and I had family telling me I needed to gain weight!

I am watching the scale, once a week, right now, only because I have so much to lose. It will keep me focused.

I am also measuring myself because those numbers tell the truth! When I can once again wear a size 5/6 I am where I need to be!
  • My goal is for my clothes at the moment to become so baggy people around me notices it. It'll make me feel good
  • it's weird thinking about that end goal. sort of like a dream, not sure i can get there?
my dream goal is to be a hot wife i've never been. i've been close to over 200# most of the last 10 years. i'm 28. since pregnancy with my first out of three kids at 18.
so just being under 200 is such a mental victory.
i'm trying to wrap my head around 180's and 170's as goals. i could be really happy at that size. i'm already much happier. i just want to get rid of more fat in inches lost. and gain more muscle.
