Hi from Peggy

  • Hi,
I found this site by looking up the calorie content in chicken breast, and figured I could use the support. I need to lose about 48lb to get to the top of my healthy BMI range.

I gained a lot of weight on my last pregnancy, and have not lost ANY of it!!! I gained some right before I got pregnant, too, so I really have a ways to go. I had gestational diabetes, and am considered "pre-diabetic" now, but can reverse that if I can just get the weight off.

I am a chronic yoyo dieter. When I was younger, losing weight was always easy. I was active and the weight stayed off, but when I became less active, it could pile on easliy enough.

At this point, I find it extremely difficult to get the scales to budge at all - at least, in the direction I want them to. I craved sugar like crazy while pregnant, but I'm starting to get over that now. I am still breastfeeding, but it isn't taking my weight off as it seems to do for some.

I am hopeful, and have started a workout regimen already, so we'll see how that works!

  • Hi Peggy!
Welcome to YoYo Central, many of us have lost only to gain it back (and more) sometimes many times over - the support you need is here to achieve your goal of a healthier you - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. Try the weight loss support forum, it's active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee

  • Thank-you all!!! I really should be working out right now. I had a high-cal supper, so I'm feeling sluggish, but there's nothing like a little physical actuvity to reverse thatfeeling!
