Oh, I just gained 4 lbs over night... you know

  • Apparently I gained 4 lbs. I know in all reality I did not, but I don't like this feeling!

Yes, I did have a glass and a half of wine, yes I did have 2 more drinks, yes I did eat buffalo wild wings, and yes I did eat WAY to much pasta for dinner.

And no, I didn't drink enough water.

Problem solved. BUT. How do I get rid of this!?!?!?!

I'm having yogurt and grapefruit for breakfast, then going to the gym. Any other suggestions here?
  • When it happens to me, I try to drink lots of water the next day as well as work on eating mainly veggies, fruits, and only lean meats or tuna. Also, just give it a few days... It'll usually take me a few days to actually level back out before I start losing (although I noticed you're in maintenance - Congrats on that, btw!!!)
  • What Star said - just have good foods today, lots of water, and exercise - it'll come off.

I gained 2 overnight, so I'm with you
  • I gained 3 last night, and I'm so mad at myself!! I guess it's from the fast food I ate yesterday (my stick thin sister is a bad influence). I'm working out and drinking water like crazy today, so hopefully it will be gone tomorrow.
  • water, water, water, water!!!
  • This same thing happened to me when I was in New York. I put on 4lbs w/in two days and I know it was the salty foods and drinks. When I got back home I focused on working out to sweat off all that sodium and excess water. Then I made sure I ate tons of veggies that are natural diuretics like cucumbers and celery. It will come off...don't stress yes its annoying to see the scale go up like that but it will come off....
  • water is the cure-all just dont think about it for a few days love. those 4 pounds will be gone cause lets be real..they aren't *really* there. its just extra food hanging around in your body and maybe some water retention. No worries.
  • Ugh I hate that. Water, water, water.
  • Umm that sounds so yummy

I haven't drank since 1/1/10, I just have no control. A glass of wine will turn into 2 and then 3 and then before I know it I have drank the whole bottle bymyself. and then I get really hungry and pig out. It usually takes me about 4 days for all that wine and junk food from that night to get out of my system. I have more control over what I eat when I DON'T drink alcohol. Once I start drinking I get wasted and eat several hundred calories.

Your not a bad person for drinking all that wine and eating buffalo wings yummy but try to cut back on the alcohol or just cut it out completely until you get to your goal weight.

Also I noticed that when I drink wine coolers I don't get hungry or wasted so if I do want a drink I will drink one or 2 but for now Im avoiding anything with alcohol. Good Luck

Oh I see your at your goal weight lol. Well in that case just limit getting tipsy about once every 2 weeks or once a month
