No longer in denial...

  • (this is my first post, so I hope I'm doing this right)

After reading around here for a while I finally bit the bullet and weighed myself for the first time in months. I knew I'd slowly been packing on the pounds but.... well, denial is a pretty good description of what I've been doing about it. So, despite having a horrible sinus infection and having difficulty breathing, I hopped on the treadmill and walked 3 miles over an hour. It's a start, but I'm still sitting with a cloud over my head of sadness at what I've let myself become. I'm just so disappointed and angry with myself, but I'm hoping that by just getting it out here I'll be able to pick myself up by the boot straps and make the changes that I need to change (and save) my life. If only they made a Motivation pill! I'd buy it by the barrel!
  • No point in feeling sad. You decided to change it and that is what counts! Yeah! I found a bare belly~ good abs pic of myself today. I admit I felt disgusted but I decided to use it as motivation. You can so do this. One day at a time and you will get right back where you want to be!
  • The first step is always the hardest...good on ya for making it!

    Stay strong!
  • Welcome!!! You will definitely find motivation and people who understand here! This is my 2nd time around on here. Several years ago, before I had my daughter, I was a regular on here and lost 50 lbs!! Good luck!!! We're all here to support you!!
  • Thank you guys!! This is just the motivation I need to get and keep my butt moving!!!
  • I love your idea about the motivation pill!
  • Good job and welcome!

I lived in denial for a while too. Towels would no longer go around me and I really thought my towels were old and shrunk.
  • That's awesome that you got out there and did it!! I don't think you need a motivation pill. You just did it.
  • I'm back on it again after losing 17 pounds last year and gaining 12 of it back. I've already lost almost five pounds since 12/28 and I'm really ready to take it seriously this year. You can do it! Just put your mind to it.
