New Years Challenge!

  • Maybe I'm just a dork, but I kind of like these. They give me a real incentive to stay on plan at the times I know I can be derailed most. I tried to do this for Thanksgiving but got very few participants because by the time I made the thread, Thanksgiving dinner was already over for many people! So I'll try posting this one ahead of time...
    I challenge you to weigh yourself on January 1st, 2010, when you wake up in the morning (after using the bathroom and whatever) and recording that weight on your official 3FC ticker, regardless of whether you are up or down.
    Anyone else up to it? I think it'll make me less inclined to snack too much on New Years Eve if I know I have to face up to the scale the next morning.
  • i'm in, meg! of course, i may be slightly cheating because i'll be on the plane all night tonight until 10 am tomorrow so i have 3 meals of slimfast bars...but considering i haven't weighed all week and was not well behaved, it could be super scary when i weigh when i get home:
  • I am in Meg! Hopefully I am down, this was a great idea. It should help keep me out of the treats! Last night I asked my mom to take some pictures of me for my last 10 pounds, she said "I dont want to see you losing any more weight You are thin enough already." Well I know thats not true; she just isnt used to seeing me like this I think. Hmm anyway this should help keep me on track I am going to prove her wrong!!
  • I'm in! I haven't been weighing myself purposely BUT I think I can do this
  • I've been afraid to weigh myself for months now. I know I'm up quite a bit from where my ticker says I am. So I'm in. I need to re evaluate where I am and get back on track anyway.
  • I'm new, but I'd like to take part. I weigh myself everyday for accountability purposes. I find if my weight is slightly up, I watch what I eat that much more closely those days.

    I cant update a ticker - but I will post my weight here.

    Yeah yeah update your weight in your profile on the left, and then keep us posted! Welcome to 3FC, by the way. Apparently there's gonna be TONS of new members after New Years because people are pledging to lose weight with the new year, so there'll probably be many more 20-somethings soon (I joined March 09 so I haven't experienced this chaotic influx yet), but you're different because you joined during the holidays! Go you!

  • oh i'm definitely doin this. gotta be true to yourself and get off to 2010 on the right foot! that means having an accurate ticker hopefully mine will be the same.. or lower?? who knows
  • Anyone weigh in yet? It's like.. 1:30, but I went to bed at 10:30AM and got up at noon to see a friend off and am going back to sleep soon. When I wake up for good I'll weigh in.
    I MIGHT be up. I think I overate, but I also think it could have been worse. I wasn't eating all night, and mostly just enjoying the party.

  • I weighed in. I am down...alot. But when I weighed last I was TOM and sodium packed. Plus, I am in school for winter training where there are three practices a day. So...and I think I was a tad dehydrated; however, all in all good. When I weighed Monday I was at 189 but I know that alot of that was water because week prior I was 185. So...it could be a possibility.
