I went to MRC, and as you fat loss friends told me, it will cost me $400 to lose 50 pounds. So nice knowing ahead of time what it would cost. Hate that sticker shock. I have a friend who it thinking of joining but would like to have an idea ahead of time as to how much it would cost to lose 30 pounds. Anyone out there that can answer this question??

It only cost me $198 to lose 60 pounds. I just kept telling them no. I would just wait until they had a special. You might try cancelling that contract and see if you can deal with them.

For my center it was $298 for 17 weeks and $398 for 24 weeks. If you are looking at specials, make sure the cost includes stabilitzation and maintenance. Sometimes they are not included in super cheap promotions (at least in my area that's the way it is) - and for me that's the part I need to learn, how to keep the weight off.

$198 for 60 pounds!! I wish I could have taken you with me to negotiate.
Thank you both for the info. I should have added that I paid an extra hundred for a saliva hormone test, they said the test is normally $200. I did this because I am 55 and had watched both Oprah and Dr. Phil shows (really have gotten great info from both shows over the years) that talked about synthetic hormone replacement therapy. The shows followed women who were depressed or overweight or had low energy and it was due to hormone imbalance.
I go back Wed for a food class and to get my drink supplements and then they said my 17 weeks would start on 1-4. I actually have 60 pounds to lose so I am going to get started today with drastically cutting back on the crazy foods I eat. Seeing you are both losing gives me hope.

I average about bit more than 2 lbs per week. I don't know if too many people average much higher? I do follow the plan and haven't had any trainwrecks either. If I were recommending the plan I would plan on 2 lb per week to calculate your number of weeks to purchase. I agree - do make sure your plan includes stabilization/maintenence. I just paid $198 for 14 weeks + stabilization/maintenance. I have 70 lbs to lose.

I paid $198 for 17 weeks plus maintenance and a year of stabilization. That's for51 pounds. A couple weeks ago I signed up for another 17 weeks for $99.

I've had the initial interview but not joined yet. They want $398 for 70# Which includes 24weeks regular, 6 wks stabilization, and 52 weeks for maintenance for a total of 82 weeks. Plus the costs for the nutritional drinks and all the vitamins and pills.
I'm waiting for a big check to come in before I can sign up.

It is much more expensive than you think it is going to be. I want to lose 60 and until I get under 200 they said I need to take 3 of their supplements a day with breakfast, lunch and dinner. They said I would lose even more if I took 5. The best buy was 10 boxes of supplements (HNS) for $90 and there are 7 supplements in a box. I was only going to take the 3 to save money but I do get hungry in between meals and the extra supplements keep me from going off the plan. The diet plan is 3 meals a day, no snacks other than their supplements which you can have 2 of, in additioin to the 3 you have with meals. I ususally have one late afternoon and one sometime after dinner. I have learned from this forum that you can also buy similar supplements through dietdirect.com.

The supplemets help..I make gelatin with mine and then they fill you up more. You do not have to buy any pills, just buy your own vitamins and EFA...that will cut the cost down significantly.

Hi Helen - my counselor said that I can use my HNS between meals and not necessarily "with" my meals. At 1st I was drinking them with my meals - but she said I can get my water in then and use the protein between to keep burning the fat. I also mix my HNS with my fiber powder. I find that drinking it halfway between meals keeps me satisfied. Now that I can have a creamy everyday, I also enjoy a hot chocolate as a treat at night and then I don't feel deprived of dessert.

I just started and everytime they ask me if I am drinking during mine during my meal. I would like to hear what they tell you...I would much rather have them between, instead of with.
