Greetings from Greece!

  • Hallo, hallo from Greece! I discovered this site the other day looking for weight loss support forums! How is everyone? I see there's room for a fat chick, currently at its fattest. I find this site inspirational after reading about the effords and success stories of its members and I hope it will help me reaching my personal goals. OMG, I've a long way to go! (50kilos/110lbs!) ^^' So... It's nice to be here and I wish everyone success with your goals!

    Welcome. This is a great place to lose a few pounds, just don't look under the furniture or you may find some!

    I am taking Koine Greek and would love to talk about Greece some time if you are interested. I love Greek food but don't know any American-Greek foods that are at all diet friendly but grilled meat and veggies, and what I have learned about any American-___country____ food is that it is often very different from the actual country's food.

    I hope this time I lose them for good and they won't return to me again bringing along their friends! Maybe too optimistic since that's what happened in the past, but perhaps this time... ^^

    As for light Greek food, Weeb: Greek cuisine is a mediteranean inspired cuisine and emfasizes on mediteranean vegetables and fruits, fish and local dairy and small quantities of meat, so on its own it's healthy and light. At least that's the traditional Greek food, but nowadays more people eat out in fast food places. The good thing is that this is slowly reversed with the modern trend about eating healthy, so some return to the basics of the mediteranean food. And sure we can talk about it.

    Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different plans to help choose the right one for you and get through the ups and downs.

    There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

    I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.
