  • I'm in the market for a new one, something seems to be wrong with mine...I can get on two or three times in a row, and get two or three different numbers. Much as I'd like to just believe the lowest number, lol, I really want it to be accurate. I'd love to hear which brands ya'll have and like. Thanks!
  • I have a Weight Watchers digital scale I like. It matches the numbers I get at the gym, so I believe it is accurate.
  • I had the same problems with a digital scale I had, so I went back to using a homedics analog scale.
  • I use a Tanita digital scale that I bought at target, it was a bit pricey but it matches all the other reading I get on balance scales at the gym and doctors office. I haven't used the body fat % part of it, but that is mostly fear on my part.
  • I got a taylor one a few yrs ago for xmas it was from target works pretty good
  • I also have a Weight Watchers digital scale. untamed, as long as the numbers keep going in the right direction from week to week (or whatever interval), don't worry about how accurate you think it might be: I've had weigh-ins at the doctor's within a day or two of my home weigh-in that seem to be a couple of pounds off what the home scale showed and way more/less than could have been achieved by staying on/falling off the wagon in that short time. Also, I always put the scale in the same place when I weigh-in: one time I had to go to a different room, then was able to get back to the usual spot, and just in those few minutes the result differed by about half a #
  • Taylor Digital...my DH would like to get a scale called Homedics Analog Professional 8-inch Waist-high Scale. I did some research and found one on Overstock.com... I just don't see why we need a different scale... of course you must realize I am a "tight wad" too!

I have the same scale. It tells you your BMI and water weight I love it! It was a little over $50
  • I use a WW digital scale and I have to put it in the same spot every time I use it or I can get readings up to 4 lbs apart.
  • i love those Tanita scales!!!
  • Try replacing your battery, before getting a whole new scale!

My digital scale is great (Thinner brand) and wont give me a different weight if I step off and step back on.
  • Thank you all for the suggestions!

ANOther - I know it's mostly accurate, cause it matched the dr's office and does keep going down. It just bugs me that it'll vary as much as 2 lbs, stepping on it literally one time after another. Exact same spot and all. I know it's not a big deal, but every little .2 down makes me happy so I like seeing them, lol.

cathydoe - I don't blame you! I'd rather not spend the money on replacing something I already have either. Particularly since I think I'll likely want one of the pricier models next time...

mrainy - You know, I didn't even think of that! Thanks! Mine is a Thinner brand digital also. I've had it for a few years, but this is the first time I've used it regularly, so I'm not sure if it's a new problem or not. Maybe it is time for a new battery...
  • I have a Weight Watchers brand digital scale but it's broken--last week it said I lost 40 lbs.! So I've been going to my weekly weigh-ins having NO idea what to expect. It's scary. I need to get a new scale.
  • Mine is also a Taylor scale with body fat measurements and body water measurments.
  • How can a scale tell your water weight?
