I'm currently on my second week of induction. I"m doing o.k. on it but don't know if I can do this forever. A friend was telling me about CALP and I was wondering if anyone had done it. Does it work? Thanks for any input!
It's okay! It's induction, you DON'T do it forever! Just hang in there, get yourself seriously into ketosis, and then when you add carbs in you will have a little variety. Good luck!

I haven't done CALP exactly, though I know a lot of people have -- I did the Atkins Induction and then switched to CAD (the ancient CALP!) because I just couldn't stand preparing carbs for my family and not being able to eat any! I really like the flexibility and the idea that you can hang on for those carbs during your Reward Meal hour ... But I will say that for most people I imagine Atkins will move the weight off faster. The last time I did this, I lost about 11 pounds on Atkins, then anywhere from 1/2-3 pounds a week on CAD. This time (I started mid-June), I lost about 10 pounds on Atkins, and since then I've sort of just hovered ... I'm sorry to say I may have to go back on Induction to get that scale moving again. I may have several things working against me here: for one, I'm about 5 years older this time; for another, I did go off the plan for one day which set me back; and, since I'm not vigilant about balancing that Reward Meal, maybe it's just not doing it for me this time around.
I suggest you may want to try CALP, and if it doesn't seem to work for you, go back to Atkins.
Good luck -

Yes, I am doing CALP and I love it! I find that I don't have to say no to myself when I really want something to eat, I can just save it for my reward meal. I usually have no problem eating my low carb meals since I get pretty busy and then it's easier for me to be vigilant. The real hard times for me is at night when I have a chance to relax. I have found that snacking on some sort of protein and drinking water constantly helps me get through the cravings. After about a week of following plan my urge to cheat has diminished a lot. Hope this helps!
