They didn't win any of their 5 games, but they came darn close in a couple. You have to understand our highschool has about 160 students and these other highschools have 2000-3700 students!
The highschool the tournament was held at was called Stevenson and it has 3700 students--it was beautiful and looked like a college campus. Our little farm town boys were in awe--but then when they hit the court it was all busines. Their coach is from that area and his mom and dad gave up their family room in the basement for the boys to sleep in for 2 nights (picture 13 highschool boys plus gear) and they hosted a cookout for parents on Saturday night. They have a lovely old Victorian home with a small apple orchard in the back. It was really a lot of fun. The coach took the boys to Woodfield Mall and several other fun places when they weren't playing. It was really a good bonding experience for all of them. My DS was totally exhausted when we headed back yesterday. I think he was asleep in the back seat about 15 minutes into the drive.
We made an early night of it and I ACTUALLY SLEPT 7 HOURS last night. Amazing!!! I also ate well over the weekend while we were gone. Now for the down side. My dad called and he got his test results back. It seems that the 4th vertabrae (sp) in his lumbar region is almost completely pinched off and the 3rd one is starting to show signs of the same thing. This is caused by his arthritis and bone spurs are growing over the spaces there. He has an appt. with a neurosurgeon on Aug. 21st.
I wish it was sooner because that is right when I go back to school and I know I will want to be there if and when he has surgery. I guess that I will just have to wait and see.
and near peach!
But have fun at the fair and take it easy. I know that I could not keep up with you!!
Sent off a b-day package to my FIL, hope he gets it on time.
