Well, you CAN always get a plain coffee at Starbucks... but IMO it's like drinking campfire ashes, lol! It's so burnt and bitter.
lol..that's because starbucks double roasts their coffee. I've been working at this same coffee shop I work at for YEARS, and we actually roast it in the store and none of the beans are more then three days old and blah blah blah...
The point is, we always get people who are like..."This is so different from starbucks coffee! what do you guys DO?!"
And I generally respond "well Starbucks roasts their coffee beans twice so that they'll have a longer shelf life. They're not roasted fresh in the store, they're roasted, stored in a warehouse, and then shipped out. They also grind ALL the coffee they need in one day at the beginning of the day, and that makes it less fresh when they actually get around to using it. That's why it generally has that burnt flavor to it."
JUST so ya know. haha
but
nicoledg, i definitely agree that it's good you stopped and took the time to THINK about what you were ordering, instead of just seeing something you really wanted and going for it without thinking about it at all. You may have accidentally and unknowingly chosen something worse for you, but the fact that you tried says a lot.
