I agree w/ David, these points were done early in the day so you still have time to "make good" and watch your points the rest of the day. I have to stay away from Starbuck's period! I have tried and tried to order the good ff, sugar free but the minute I hit the counter I am ordering my old standby's! lol

And you know what? You thought about it and made a careful decision based on the best information you had at the time - you didn't just grab the first thing your tastebuds hankered after! I'd count that as a big win, even if it makes a big hit on your points! Good job!!!

Well, you CAN always get a plain coffee at Starbucks... but IMO it's like drinking campfire ashes, lol! It's so burnt and bitter. So I don't even go to SB unless I can afford (in terms of calories and dollars ) something espresso-based.

A little OT, but I lurve breakfast sandwiches. The ones I get clock in at around 400 cal, between the english muffin, 1 slice of cheese, 1 egg, and 2 slices of bacon, which is about the least amt of calories I need for a decent breakfast. I don't know what that would be for WW points; prob more since WW counts fat; I'm not a big believer in the whole low fat doctrine (except in the case of trans fat) so the fat content doesn't really bother me. When I have the time and the ingredients, the ones I make for myself are with cheddar or mozzarella, organic sweet apple maple chicken sausage, and an egg on a pillsbury grand. 200 cals for the grand roll, 70 for the sausage, 80 for the egg, and 100 for the cheese...it's better than morning sex for getting my day started :-D

stuff happens, it tastes wonderful, then you move on. lol... that is what i tell myself when i do things like that

I think you made a good decision based on the info you had at the time No use beating yourself up! Besides, it's much better to eat stuff like that earlier in the morning. You'll have more time to burn it off during the day rather than eating it right before bed.

lol..that's because starbucks double roasts their coffee. I've been working at this same coffee shop I work at for YEARS, and we actually roast it in the store and none of the beans are more then three days old and blah blah blah...

The point is, we always get people who are like..."This is so different from starbucks coffee! what do you guys DO?!"

And I generally respond "well Starbucks roasts their coffee beans twice so that they'll have a longer shelf life. They're not roasted fresh in the store, they're roasted, stored in a warehouse, and then shipped out. They also grind ALL the coffee they need in one day at the beginning of the day, and that makes it less fresh when they actually get around to using it. That's why it generally has that burnt flavor to it."

but nicoledg, i definitely agree that it's good you stopped and took the time to THINK about what you were ordering, instead of just seeing something you really wanted and going for it without thinking about it at all. You may have accidentally and unknowingly chosen something worse for you, but the fact that you tried says a lot.

Forest - 400 calories would really depend on how much fat/fiber there was, points wise. That could be anywhere from 4-8 points, depending on the fiber. Fiber is your friend. And WW says fat is good for you, just stresses that you should go for good fats, healthy oils and NOT trans far.

And yes, I agree that a breakfast sandwich in the morning is better than a gorgeous man in my bed.
