Welcome back Amy! Glad to hear that no one was hurt by the tornado. I remember when they were shooting Godzilla up in Jersey City (I think it was like 1997) and there was a tornado right down from where they were shooting the movie. We were all like wtf...how was there room for a tornado in Jersey?

I went house/condo hunting today. Found one I really really really liked and of course when I told my dad about it he was like NONONONO. Its like a one bedroom/studio/loft thing. Its gorgeous with lots of natural light and all open space. But I'll keep looking.

It was so friggin hot today - my car read 102 - so I got home and made the rash decision to have my roomie's gf cut a lot of my hair off. She took maybe 30-4 inches in length off and layered it all around. When I blow dry it I'll take pictures. I kind of didn't want her to take that much off in length, but it'll grow back

How's everyone else doing?

Hey, hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm off on a bike trip with my dad for the next couple of days and will be incommunicado for a nice change of pace We're biking from Putney down to Brattleboro, spending the night in Grafton, and then heading over to Bellows falls on day 2 before biking back down to Putney to get the car, if there are any fellow Vermonters out there.

Stella- why did your dad object to the loft? It sounds like you are looking at some nice places.

Miss Shelley- I volunteered at a shelter walking dogs one semester and it was exhausting! Not just from the physicality of walking a bunch of dogs at once, but also from the stress of having so many animals under my care. But fun too

well, hello.

Im new to this thread, and I thought I would pop on in and say hello.

my weekend wasn't too hot. I worked (stressful) and got a sinus infection, and my head is throbbing right now. slept for 6 hours today and had to call off work.

and me and my bf are about to move in two weeks, excited about that. can't wait to get out on our own, and start livng my healthy lifestyle. Its hard since we live with his parents, and they eat bad foods. 24/7. and his mom is the type of person who, if you don't eat her cooking, she gets insulted. . .le sigh.

trying to decide how to cancel my gym membership. found somewhere else, but im trying to go around and get ride of my other account. I feel as if I'm having an affair on my gym. lol.

Had a diet-buster of a weekend. Never thought 2000ish calories (ugh 2 days in a row!) was a big deal til I was aiming for 1300-1500. I feel like I'm going to gain 10,000 pounds. Last night was hurricane night (much friendlier and drunker than tornado damage lol) and I drank so many calories guess I'll have a fresh start this week!

At least I had a lot of fun! How'd your weekends go?

the one thing i hate about study is all the bureaucracy. I have to write a midyear report on my progress. My progress would be a lot greater if i didnt have to stop and write reports on it all the time. They want a timeline. I dont have a time line! I am in "catch up like crazy" mode! There. Is. No. Timeline. I might as well write "squiggly diddly dooo" for that section

I need to stop being social and stay in on weekends. totally counterproductive to the concept of weight loss. meh, I'm a little discouraged and disillusioned today, *floats away to dampen others' spirits*

Forest - my dad doesn't like it (he hasn't even SEEN it) because its technically a 1 bedroom so re-sale may be difficult. Also, its about the same distance as my current place to work, and he has it in his head that I should move closer to work. He doesn't understand that if I move closer to work I'm a) in a more expensive place and can't afford it, b) I'm further away from school and my friends and NJ, c) the neighborhoods that I CAN afford aren't that great, d) if I move there I'm inside the DC beltway and will spend my life fighting traffic to go anywhere.
He's a typical, European father - he thinks that just because I'm a girl I can't handle anything, and its TERRIBLY frustrating, especially since I made it through 4 years of college away from home and have lived on my own for 3 years. Grr.

Beaka - Welcome! Where did you wind up moving?

Shelly - I'm jealous, I'd love to volunteer at the Humane Society, but my time is seriously going to decrease in the next few weeks.

Icon - I completely understand what you mean - they do that at work - we have to have 2 hour status meetings. Trust me, my status would be much further along if we weren't sitting here for 2 hours...

As for me, its off to California tomorrow so I'm just trying to tie up some loose ends at work (and send out about 80 emails querying for data). I'm not going to worry about house stuff this week because I can't do anything about it, so no need to stress myself and give myself a panic attack. I will deal with it next week. I'm looking forward to being somewhere else and having a good weekend in a new place. Or at least I'm trying to convince myself to have fun.

oh well, its good to be boss.
my weekend was boring.. worked 12 hours on saturday and had a couple drinks with my bf's bro. sunday, laid around-- off early today then gotta hit the gym.. whoop whoop!

Hi girls! I would like to join in as well. This was the first of 3 weekends where I am going out of town. I did really well eating wise. Before we left on Saturday, I did some weights at the gym. I haven't done them in so long and boy am I sore now. I woke up this morning ready to start my day. Usually, Mondays are bad, but I feel good about today.

It is SO hot here today. Ugh. I have a lot more trouble working up the energy to workout when its so hot. (and when its super cold now that I think about it, haha) We have a treadmill, but its in the garage, so its still pretty hot in the summer. Does anyone swim laps at the pool? How long do you swim for? Thats like the only appealing option right now.

Hi girlies. I hope you all had a great weekend. I totally did. My "friend" came down for the weekend, him and I went to a nice little reggae club on Friday, he bought me drinks all night, such a sweetie, then Saturday we just hung out at out other friends apartment, watched cops, and fell asleep together. Haha. Drank too much this weekend though. He's a bad influence on me!

I booked my ticket to Jamaica I'll be there from January 15th-26th. I can't wait!

My best friend is a jealous psycho. As I said above, I spent the weekend with this guy. I met him 2 weeks ago at my friends apartment and we've kept in contact through text messages. He is down here on a contract for work from Jamaica for 2 years. I made it clear to him I am not looking for a serious relationship, and neither is he. So my best friend wouldn't talk to me all weekend. She ignored my phone calls, she would text me back, but they were attitudy texts. So last night she calls me at 11pm and asks me if I want to meet her outside my house for a smoke, I go outside, get in her car. And first thing I say is "So what was your problem this weekend". She basically said, "You spent your whole weekend with him". Yes, normally I spend time with her on the weekend, but C'MON! He was down for the weekend and he lives 40 minutes away from me, when he's down I want to spend time with him. AND I even invited her to the club on Friday, she wouldn't go, and then on Saturday, I invited her to my friends apartment to have a drink with us and she refused the offer. I don't even know what to do. I like spending time with him, but she gets INSANLY jealous. Even if I spend time with other friends, she gets all mad. I love her to death, she is my best friend, but she has jealousy issues obviously. Her fiance lives in Jamaica, and she doesn't see him often. So I think she's mad that I found someone to spend time with here and her man is 2000 miles away. Ugh. I really don't know how to deal with this. I'm so confused.

Anyway.... Sorry I had to vent. I'm mad about this. It's just not fair. When we go to Jamaica I hardly even see her, she's with her man 24/7, doing her own thing, and I do my own thing. I obviously WANT to spend time with her there, but I keep my mouth shut because I know she's happy. She can clearly see I'm happy with this guy, yet she can't accept that. It's just not fair. And the funny thing is, she's 30 years old!! She's not a kid. I'm only 22, and way more mature than her.

So I got my surgery date for my gallbladder - September 8th...Oh joy!

luvja- Sounds like your friend is jealous of you maybe? Do you think it has anything to do with your weight loss and getting attention from guys? Sorry I'm assuming, I know not all friends are like that. But I have read so many threads about people losing weight and then all of a sudden experience attitude and jealousy from their friends. Congrats on your 100lb loss so far, thats so amazing!
