Hi there, earlyChicks! Another sunny and glistening day is here. Remind me of this when I start *****ing about the cold next November.
Pooky - Miree's haircut is just adorable. She is such a sweetie - and I think my grand daughter Tayler is the cutest kid in the world!
Scooby2 - I really admire your determination in going to the gym so early and regularly! It must be paying off.
Samsgrandma - keep cool. My Porties are lying in their wading pool a lot these days.
Slept until 6 this morning - must be the Tylenol PM that I smuggled back from the NJ. Amazing because I was in bed before 9 last night - heat seems to wipe me out. Today is a bit cooler - this morning, at least.
The work for the Delta Fair is cranking up. It doesn't start until the 25th but I have bills to pay, fliers to distribute, control sheets to get ready, etc. so may not be in here as much this month.
However, I will be watching for the naughty bits! so be sure to put some in.

This morning I need to make some corrections to the Fair Website (made by local HS students who are on vacation now. I'll post the URL when I know it is correct.
My garden is sooooo sad. Usually I have beans by now but the plants are just starting to leaf out. Not bad for us but I pity the poor farmers and market gardeners. We had more rain in June than we get in the three summer months so stuff drowned - the corn leaves are yellow. Now we have gone a whole week with no rain but very high temps - over 90 most days - so crops are in bad shape. There may be lots of whining in the beer tent during Fair time.
LindaT sent me a recipe that might be worth a try for lunch or dinner in this heat. I made it last week witrh a few changes and served it on lettuce for dinner. I have not done the nutritional analysis - the recipe is for 5 but we ate the whole thing. I think it serves 2 for a main meal. I'll post in the recipe section once I do the nutritional analysis.
BBQ Chicken Salad
2 skinless boneless chicken breast halves - Pre Cooked frozen
2 stalks celery - chopped
1/2 large red bell pepper - diced
1/2 red onion diced - I used a few green onions
1 (8.75 oz.) can of sweet corn drained - did'nt use - OK for CALP
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
2 T fat-free mayonnaise
Mix BBQ sauce and mayo and pour over other ingredients. Mix and chill until serving time. Serve over mixed greens if you wish.
Mmmmm - getting hungry and it's only an hour past breakfast.
Am off to walk to the Office and glug water. Catch you later.
