10 min trainer Ab workout-Wrist Woes

  • Hey everybody, I want to continue doing the 10 min trainer ab workout, (IMHO-it is a great ab workout and comparable to an hr of intense ab circuit training) the problem is that I get halfway through the exercises (that have you supporting most of your bodyweight on one or both wrists) and my wrists hurt so much that I can't finish... so i skip ahead to the ones that I dont have to use my wrists for.. wait an hr, try it again, but my wrists still hurt, a lot .. I try again 24hrs later but now my abs are very very sore from the previous workout.. is there a way that I can do this workout without severe wrist pain?
    i hope that explanation made some sense... anyways thanks for reading
  • Hi and welcome on board!
    It may depend from your wrist muscles being not yet strong enough to hold your weight, it's very possible, either you have a good quantity to loose or don't have enough muscles. Anyways, in your shoes I'd still have those exercized but decrease them a lot. Remember, pain is the way your body has to tell you there's something wrong. So, do those exercizes till you feel pain. At pain, just stop and so some other exercized that don't load on the wrist.
  • I don't know that workout but are you doing planks? You can also do planks on your elbows.

    I tried doing the exercises yesterday on my elbows and I was actually able to do 95% of it, THANKS nelie!!!! ... its a lot harder to balance on my elbows tho... yeah my wrists probably hurt I have NO muscle mass right now, but I didn't use a mat or cushion either so...oops
