Not always!
All of my life, weight loss was fastest in the beginning, in part because I set myself up to either be perfect or to fail completely (so I would be perfect until I couldn't stand it, and then I'd fail completely, by throwing myself under the metaphorical bus).
I would always try to figure out how I could forecast how much I would or might lose, and then get discouraged when I never quite got the results I was hoping for.
I've finally learned there are other options, and what's worked for me is turning the sterotypical, traditional dieting process on it's head.
Instead of trying to find the way to lose the fastest way possible, I decided to consider what I saw myself being able to accomplish and continue for a lifetime. If it didn't seem doable forever, it wasn't worth attempting.
The more I accomplish, the more I see myself being able to accomplish. The more I attempt, the more I'm willing to attempt - so my weight loss is probably going to be stable or even fastest at the end, rather than the beginning, but regardless I really caution you against focusing on the speed of weight loss. It's a trap that tempts you into considering crazy, unsustainable, and even dangerous methods of weight loss.
