  • Oh man. So off-topic, and this thread will probably disappear to the 14th page in like an hour, but...

I just got a phone call from my boyfriend. And so you say, "Gee. So what?" but... my boyfriend lives in Ireland, so.. at 11 pm, it's actually 4 am in Ireland, and my boy spent this afternoon/evening on a "The Twelve Pubs of Christmas" pub crawl in Dublin. Boy is drunk.

And he'd HAVE to be drunk, because if he was sober (or logical) he would've thought about the fact that drunk-dialing me on my cell probably cost me like $15, and him even more in euros, lmao.

That being said, I didn't even care. I picked up and listened to him half-slur for five minutes in his thick Irish accent about a big philosophical/religious argument he got into with some random guy in a pub about whether Jesus IS God, or whether Jesus is the SON of god, and the guy was trying to get my boy to recite some prayer of some kind, lol... Anyhow, the fact of the matter is, I didn't even CARE what he was talking about, I was just so happy and thrilled to hear his voice, it totally made my night. DAMN, I miss that accent.

Then he hung up on me unintentionally when he was getting on the bus and accidentally handed the bus driver a receipt instead of a 5 euro note like he'd thought. He's an idiot. But I think I'm falling for him. I just wanted to hug him.

My flight to Dublin leaves on Friday. *beams*

Recent happy moments that DON'T relate specifically to weight loss. Aaaaand GO.
  • Awww thats so cute! I feel like there is more truth to drunken rantings than people think! And the fact he called you means you're always on his mind! I'm sure you can't wait to see him! And I can't wait to hear about how he reacts when he first sees you!! I'm sure he is gonna be floored!!

And, you look gorgeous in your avatar!
  • My bf and I are "linked" on facebook as being in a relationship but other than that we never write on eachothers walls. We live together so its not like I need to use facebook to talk to him or anything. and I'm definitely not one of those girls that has to write how much i love him all over his wall to keep other girls away from him so.. when I got on facebook the other day and he had wrote "love ya" on my wall I was COMPLETELY shocked. I love being loved. I think he just did it cause i"m moving soon, lol.
  • wow, have a great time in Ireland with your boy!
  • You are going to have so much fun there!!!! Be sure to take a lot of pictures
  • Awwww! Love is amazing!! It's so fun! I'm so happy for you. You're gonna have an amazing time. We're gonna miss you around here though.
  • Awwwe how cute!
  • Have an AWESOME time in Ireland! Party like there is no tomorrow! I KNOW how excited you are right now! My "guy" lives in Jamaica and my flight leaves for Jamaica in 2 weeks and 5 days!. We get to escape this horrid southern Ontario weather. Yay for us! Have a blast, be safe, and be sure to take lots of pictures and post them on 3FC when you return!
  • Omg! That is so awesome that you have a sexy Irish guy with an accent!
I would say my recent happy moment was when my boyfriend was trying to sing me to sleep when I was DRUGGED! haha...
  • Wow! Your trip is right around the corner! then you will get drunk ramblings for free and in person

Feel good moments non weightloss related?

Hmm... Well, I went to a few holiday parties last night and saw some very old friends. They are hockey players from where I worked in college and are famous for their big bear hugs- the kind of bear hugs only a good guy friends can give that just swallow you up.

So I got some bear hugs last night and it felt really good
  • Awww - that is so cute . I'm so glad for you that you're going to see him soon! Drunk dialing is fun, as long as it's not embarrassing.

My recent happy moment? I did some stuff with a friend of mine, and then he decided that he didn't like as much as he thought he did, which left me quite sad. One of my best friends is a mutual friend of ours, and she was so nice and helpful... she even told me he was a dick according to her, and that she'd call him all names I'd ask (which I didn't do, because I don't hold grudges like that). And I could call her anytime, even during her job, and she left her phone on for me at night, something she never does. It was so incredibly kind and I'm still thinking of a way to thank her... it's great to have friends like that.
  • Being married is by no means easy... but being married to the sweetest man can surely help. My husband is Jamaican, and I am just a twenty something girl from the Midwest- You can imagine how that accent swept me off my feet! Just to hear his voice is enough to relax me. But the best is when he sings to me, especially Bob Marley and Beres Hammonds!
  • on friday night i went out with some girls i don't really know all that well, and i half expected them to kind of ignore me and stick to themselves in their...girlpack or whatever, but they totally didn't. we talked all night and drank and had SO MUCH fun together.

and just to make things nicer, they introduced me to some of their other friends and one of them (another nice girl) was like, "girl, you're SO pretty."

it's just nice to see girls that are nice to other girls instead of being catty and mean.
  • Feel good moments not related to weight loss......

I went away this weekend up to Toronto for some skating things with my friends and, even though they weren't skating, the pairs skaters that I adore were there to watch some of their friends. I ran into them Friday night on the concourse and they stopped to talk with me for about 15 minutes about random stuff. It was great to be able to talk to them and catch up since I last saw them. Although I logically know that they recognize me and know who I am and they always make a point to stop and say hi when we see each other, I still get so excited when I see them and they do, in fact, stop to say hello.

Between that, laughing the whole weekend with friends, shopping a bit on Saturday afternoon, and discovering T-Ho's Candy Cane Donuts, it was such a fun weekend
  • Oh I love this thread! I love hearing (or reading..haha) about everyone's happy experiences and taking a break from weight-chat!

Jelbb---I'm so JEALOUS of your Ireland trip!! I've always wanted to go there! It's on my list of places-to-go..eventually. Haha!! You're going to have a blast AND you get to see the boy!! I hope you take a load of pics when you're there!

Alright...and my recent happy moment? Spending the whole weekend with my hunnie! I hadn't seen him in a couple of weeks, but I'm home from school for the holiday now! So yay! We were able to lay around in our underwear watching movies and playing Xbox! I can't tell you how amazing it is to lay in his arms with him playing with my hair...my shirt smells like him now. And my heart is happy.

    K, I'm done gushing...lol!
