I have a major sweet tooth!

  • I've been on and off of WW for years... always used Flex. I've decided to give Core a try to see if it helps me develop some healthier eating habits. The only problem I foresee it that I am a sweets junkie, so I'm looking for some good ideas (other than s/f/ff pudding). Also, I try not to eat too much Splenda (although small amounts are fine) because I don't really like the taste... any ideas?? I know I can use my extra pts, but I'd rather stick to Core as much as possible....
    Thanks!
  • Good for you! You can do it! I do Flex, but I do feel better/more satisfied when eating core foods! I'm obsessed with pumpkin pie so I've "created" a sort of similar low calorie concoction:

Either make or buy a low fat graham cracker crust
Mix together canned pumpkin and light/ff Cool Whip
You can add cinnamon (and/or Splenda, etc. which I know you said you don't like) to the mixture
Scoop mixture into pie crust and refrigerate.

I feel like I've tried freezing individual cups of this in the past too, so there's a thought!

I know this is obviously not core but you can alter it however you want. I try to keep one of these in the fridge around Thanksgiving to keep myself from inhaling "real" pie. Baked apples with oats and cinnamon are yummy too!
  • Why don't you make the crustless pumpkin pie that is totally core.

I also like sugar free fudge pops, with ff cool whip and a little peanut butter. Even the chocolate wafer cookies with ff cool whip in them help! Make a batch ahead and freeze them

I find splenda makes me crave sweets a little more, so I too try and not use it but I like my coffee in the morning. I am expermenting a bit with Equal instead.
  • I like frozen grapes and bananas.
  • to be honest, i have never thought any of the core recipes trying to imitate desserts/sweets were any good. i would just use WAP's for them. 2-3 per day would allow you a small treat that actually tastes good, and you may even be able to cover that with AP's. just my opinion.
