  • to the October exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!
  • My goal for the month is 930 min.. That averages out to 30 min. a day.

    So far I have exercised daily for the past 10 days (started this journey Sept.21) and chalked up a very nice 980 mins. during that time.

    It's nice to have a place to report our success, receive encouragement and not feel all alone.
  • I am setting my goal for 800 min this month..I hit my sept 400 and kinda stopped.

  • No specific goals, just 3 days strength training + 2 days cardio

    Today - 75 mins strength training

    Group total: 20 + 75 = 95
  • 20 mins walking outside... until the rain started. Since I wasn't at home I couldn't hop on the treadmill. I did jog to the car though.

    Group total: 95 + 20 = 105
  • This is my hardest area. My goal is a minimum of 15 minutes per day. So that's 465 for the month of October.

    10/1 = 15 minutes at lunch doing a variety of things from theraband to crunches to kick backs and knee lifts
    10/2 = 30 minutes doing the Walk Away the Pounds 2 mile brisk walk

    Group total 105 + 45 = 150
  • Goal for this month is 640 minutes, which is twice as much as I did in Sept.

    so far 30 minutes on my bike

    Group Total = 150 + 30 = 180
  • 20 min walking in the neighborhood

  • Bang-up job on the bike this morning. Increased to 30 minutes and added intervals; did 7.05 miles and had the best time per mile yet! :-)

    Group Total - 200 + 30 = 230
  • 30 minutes on the treadmill.
    Personal 75/465

    Group Total: 230 + 30 = 260
  • 10/1 Gardening 120min.
    10/2 Swim 45 min.
    10/3 Yard work 60 min.

    My Oct. total 225 + 260 = Group total 485
  • 10/5 35 mins on treadmill, may do more later.

    Personal : 110

    Group: 485+110 = 595
  • Made a hard bike workout for myself today - lots of "hills". Was going to do 35 minutes but stopped at 33...legs felt like they were going to fall off! LOL

    New Group Total 33 minutes + 595 = 628
  • 70 mins strength training this morning

    Group total: 628 + 70 = 698
  • My minutes for this week are 250 + 698 = 948 New Group Total
