I was wondering the same thing!

I like Cream cheese with cukes
    string cheese
    a few nuts
    nsa fudgesicles
    a spoonful of beans
SBD tide me over drinks are pretty good.
a small ww tortilla with beans/hummus/veggies
  • Peaches
    Nectarines
Honey Crisp apples, (when I can get them) with Laughing Cow
Greek yogurt with agave nectar and nuts
    NSA fudgesicles
string cheese and cherry berry tomatoes
  • Cottage - I can't WAIT for the honeycrisp crop to hit the stores. I <3 them oh so much.

And yes, parmesan cheese plain - good parmesan cheese, shaved off a brick...not the shredded or grated stuff in stores.
  • I buy the parmesano reggiano from whole foods in brick form but I can't imagine snacking on it! Its so stout!

What are honeycrisps? just a type of apple?
  • oh, when I have cravings late I like to have a cup of Bigelow slepytime tea to curb cravings and fill my stomach up!
  • The usual suspects:

    almonds
    celery with peanut butter
    celery with laughing cow
    cuke slices with hummus
apples with peanut butter OR cheese
protein smoothie (sf protein powder/ff yogurt/fruit)
yogurt w/cashews/fruit and/or crystal light (and sometimes Kashi GoLean)

and yes I am a freak: roasted brussel sprouts with ranch (ff sour cream mixed with dry ranch mix)

Oh man....I really love sharp cheeses.

The parmesan is really good with fruit. I like it with apples, grapes and mango. The parm is especially good with mango.
  • This time of year I really start craving honeycrisps! They're a very crisp, sweet/tart apple and are so juicy. Yummmm! They usually are more expensive than other varieties, but are worth every cent.
  • I find myself craving the ricotta cremes with almond extract occasionally like tonight. I also have these great Edy's popsicles that are made with Splenda and have 0 everything and I think 35 calories. When i get really frustrated and occasionally "flirt" with P2 foods (trying to be in phase one for a month instead of 2 weeks, it's been 19 days total) I give in a little and have one of these Carb Smart Ice Cream bars that are coated with chocolate and almonds from Breyers. They have a few bad things in them but not soooo bad and are made with Splenda.

Cherry, just a note: Phase 1 is definitely not recommended for more than two weeks.

It can be harmful to your body - Ketosis is not fun.

Why are you doing P1 for a month instead of 2 weeks?
  • In the book it says you can extend P1 for a few extra weeks if you have a lot of weight to lose. I am insulin resistant and its really hard to break so I have to be VERY careful about reintroducing certain things to my diet right now because I am doing really well right now and if my insulin levels spike again I could very easily get in trouble again. I am working with an endocrinologist as well and she said to try to stick with it until my insulin levels reach normal levels again and I can hopefully stop taking the medication I take to decrease the insulin resistance. In less than three weeks I have been able to get them down dramatically (from 47 to 29 ) but they need to get below 20 to be considered normal and even at that point I could easily become severely resistent again if I go carb crazy. I am currently completely stalled as well so we (doc and I) figured, try it for month and then get some more blood work to see what's going on. Thanks so much though!! I am so glad to have people looking out for me! I appreciate it and learn a lot from you all!!
  • Fuji apples and almond butter is my fav snack.
