  • to the August exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    And you want to jump in, because one of the main reasons to be here is to track how many minutes we exercise as a group! In 2007, we exercised over 200,000 minutes...
  • 45 minutes gym

    Group total ~ 45
  • No goals for the month, just a generic 2x60mins cardio and 3xlifting (~90mins) per week. Although I'm taking a couple of rest days between Stages.

    Anyway, 90 mins today strength training (with cardio warmup and HIIT)

    Group total: 45 + 90 = 135
  • 37 minutes / 7.06 miles on the stationary bike
    20 side leg lifts w/ ankle weights
    20 back leg lifts w/ ankle weights

  • 34 mins exercise bike (9 miles) + 222 = 256 minutes (group total)

    Total miles biked = 9 miles (goal of 150 miles biked)

    Total minutes = 34 (goal 600 minutes)

  • I am going to keep my goal at 2000 minutes for August. I made it in July + 45 minutes. Hopefully I can do well again.

  • 15 mins exercise bike (4 miles) + 390 = 405 minutes (group total)

    Total miles biked = 21 miles (goal of 150 miles biked)

    Total minutes = 80 (goal 600 minutes)

    38 minutes walking: 2 miles. (Ugh)

    My total: 108 + 38 = 146

    Group total ~ 405 + 38 = 443
  • 53 minutes (33 elliptical / 20 arc trainer ) = 146 + 53 = 199 for me

    Group ~ 443 + 53 = 496
  • Wow! This is a slow start!

    I have 100 minutes to add, but I need to get my butt in gear.
