  • The U.S. number 1 on the 31st May 1970 was 'Everything Is Beautiful' by Ray Stevens

The U.K. number 1 on the 31st May 1970 was 'Back Home' by England World Cup Squad
  • Mine was something I have never heard of called 'Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White' by Eddie Calvert. The US one was the same song by someone called Perez Prado!

    Oh well.....
  • I have heard of it Sarah it was covered in the very early 80's!
  • Pretty Flamingo by Manfredd Mann was TOTP in the UK when I was born. Can't place the song but have heard of the band / singer.

More appropriately was the US song Monday, Monday by
Mama's and Papa's - I was born very early on a Monday morning -even know a few words to this one.
  • I go back before the Charts!!!
Now I know what my kids mean when they ask about the days of the sailing ships etc. I go back further than the charts!!!!!
However I looked at those for the 18th Birthday and that was - wait for it - Something stoopid by Frank and Nancy Sinatra. My family would have something to say about that!!
Cherry Pink and and Apple Blossom White - I'm sure that goes back much further even than me! I have the music here on an old compilation. I just can't find it to see if it has a date on it. I would have thought that was around wartime! Maybe it was a remake Sarah Ann.
  • This is going to be a give away, it was something called 'King of the Road' MAy 18 1965.
  • Not fair - everyone's are better than mine

I hope mine doesn't go back to the war.... its for 11th June 1955! Spent ages searching down a Mpeg of Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White - sort of Latin American beat - quite nice.

I think I will go and have a look for my 18th.

..... Shouldn't have bothered.... (UK) 'See My Baby Jive' by Wizzard (US) 'My Love' Paul McCartney & Wings! Yuck!
