Spring Fling Challenge!!!

  • WHO WANTS A CHALLENGE?????


    Well here it is. Yesterday was the first day of Spring, and even tho we had a snow storm, I am still in for a challenge!!

    What's this challenge all about???

    Well, it starts today and goes until May 1... May Day!!!!
    Post the goals you want to accomplish by May 1.
    Check in an often as you need to. And once it is over, we will post how we did!!!

  • Here it goes!!!

    1....I want to lose 10 pounds!!!!! Actually, May 4 is my deadline because that is SIL's wedding, but I will shoot for May 1!!

    2....I also need to walk the dog more. I am doing really well on exercising, but with the cold and yucky weather here in Wisconsin, the poor dog gets so neglected. So I want to exercise her more, and in turn, me along with it!

    3....Make more healthy snacks to eat at work!!

    We also had snow this morning, but I need to remember that bathing suit season is quickly approaching!

    So....

    1.) I want to lose 10 pounds by May 1st. I have been hovering a bit over goal, and my goal is still higher than what I want to weigh.... so I just made plans to go to a ww meeting this Saturday morning!! I am a bad lifetime member and never go to meetings, so maybe this will prove to be the motivation that I need!

    2.) .... which means I need to start journaling again because the BLT's sure add up!

    3.) I want to stop drinking so much. If I could cut back just a bit, I bet I would be amazed at how much of a difference it makes.

    4.) Finally, I want to continue to exercise at least 3-4 times a week. I KNOW this will get easier as the weather gets nicer and I can run outside again, but I also want to incorporate different types of activity into my plan, such as riding my bike.

    Plus, I just bought my plane ticket to Italy in June, so I want to get this weight off before I go!

    OK, by May 1st (which is just over 5 weeks away) I plan to:

    * Lose a few more pounds. 5 would be ideal, but we'll see.

    * Go to Yoga and 2 other exercise classes at least once a week

    * Stop drinking so much! (Although my friend from Australia is moving from London to Edinburgh next week and we're having a big send off. Pinot Grigio all round that night!)

    * Bring my lunch to work. Thankfully the microwave at work is getting replaced this week (it's been broken for months) so I can start having soup and baked potatos at a fraction of the cost. And keep my points low!

    JenK - how long are you going to be in Italy for? You're so lucky, it's great! Where abouts are you going?
  • My goals:

    - Comfortably fit into all my size 4-6 clothes again.

    - strength train 3 times a week and do cardio 5-6 times a week.

    - As the weather gets nicer walk more (whether to the pharmacy, grocery store etc)!!!

    - Have one designated treat day a week, BUT not to go too overboard (Easter Sunday is one of my designated treat days).

    1. Drop five more pounds (will be my WW goal weight).

    2. Exercise more (walk more, more cardio).

    3. Stop snacking so much at work.

  • I am imagining myself come May 1st:

    -I have lost 2lbs per week and am down 10 more lbs
    -I have added regular strength training to my fitness regime
    -I have increased my workouts in length and frequency (6x per week instead of four)
    -my clothes are looser
    -I consistently plan my meals
    -I control my cravings during pms/tom
    -I consistently make healthy choices when I eat out
    -I eat out less often

    Come on girls, don't forget about our Spring Challenge!! Bathing suit weather is fast approaching...
    (even if the midwest snow makes it hard to believe that!)

    I lost 6.4 lbs this week at weigh-in, so it looks like I can actually make my May 1st goal of 10 pounds!!

    I am joining up!!

    Here are my Spring Fling goals:

    1. To lose 10 pounds by June 1st.

    2. To walk every day (at least 30 minutes).

    3. Journal everything!

    I need to weigh myself tomorrow morning to see what my start weight is, then I think I will have my WI day on Mondays (it will make me be good on the weekends!)

  • Tonya, this challenge will end May 1, then we will start a new challenge, so think of the short term goal you would like to meet by May 1. Glad you joined!!!!
  • I've jumped in this forum a couple of times but never stuck with posting. I'm a major lurker so feel like I know all of you. I'll try to stick around this time and contribute to the daily chats.

    Here's my goals for the Spring Fling Challenge:

    1)Lose 8 lbs
    2)Cardio exercise for 30 minutes 3x/week
    3)Stregth train 3x/week
