FRIDAY - yippee!

  • Morning girls!
Just starting the post. I'll be back later on to reply properly to yesterday's posts.
Hope you're all doing good. It's freezing here in London which just makes me want to snack! But I must resist!!!

  • back again
    Hi girls,
where are you all? come out and post!!
lisa - i worry about essential fats and oils too. esp cos i don't want creaking joints like my mum's!! i've started eating salmon to make sure i get the good fats in.
kt - hey - good to see you! hope WI goes ok, i'm sure it'll get you back on track.
kim - how did your WI go? hope you got a good result, but if not, don't feel discouraged cos sometimes all the hard work doesn't show until the next week.
rina - great idea to go glow bowling!
jenk - hope work is less stressful for you today?
jenl - did you get a pic of emma's plaster scanned in?!
belle - i'm not sure what power yoga is. i do hatha yoga, so i'm presuming that's a regular kind of yoga. it's very good. our instructor knows that most of us want to do the postures for balance, strength and flexibility and just occasionally do the breathing, chanting and meditation type stuff.
right. better go. i'm off to look at tvs cos i want a new one. i've seen a really good deal online for a 28-inch widescreen Daewoo but i want to see it in the flesh before i buy it! (online price is £249.99 as opposed to high street price of £349).
    back later,
Kirsty :sheep: can you tell i'm loving the smilies today?!
  • I took head shots of Emma with her band aid. Don't have them to post yet tho!!! No wound shots since I can't take the band aid off for 2 days. The doc said the wound is not as deep as it looked and will heal just fine!

Bad day at work and facing possible cuts, so I am crabby. We are meeting next Sat. for decisions. YIKES. I know I won't lose my job, but may have to take a pay cut. Not sure yet. I am stressed tho because if we do have cuts, I will have a ton more to do!
  • Good morning ladies!!

I have SOOO many posts to catch up on!! Just wanted to welcome Angie back, I remember you!!

Our Las Vegas trip was great. I won $500.00 on a slot machine (only put in $5.00!!).

My DH and I walked about 5 miles a day and I didn't even eat my minimum most days (my husband finds eating is a hassle when you are busy....)

So, staying OP was not a problem.

I am going to try to read all the posts, and respond.

I hope everyone's week went well!
  • wow - well done tonya! glad to hear you had a great time in las vegas. i'd love to go there one day. when are you going jen? sorry to hear about all your job stress. hope you're ok.
  • Morning ladies,

Kirsty - I should have known better than to buy cashews though. I ended up having a handful this morning, so I threw the bag away. In three days I ate about 20 points worth of cashews. I'll have to find a better way to get in my essential fats, because I can eat cashews until I'm blue in the face. I don't like Salmonm but I'm sure I can find other sources.

Jen - good luck on the job front... I know how all that feels.

Tonya - excellent! congrats on the $500 and on staying on program. I hope I can stay on program the 2 days iI'm in NY this weekend.

Belle - I'll only be in NY sat and sunday. Are you going for work or for fun? I hope you have a great time!!!

I'm leaving at noon today - YIPEE!! I'm getting highlights and my eyebrows waxed.

I'm hoping to bring Jimmy Fallon home with me on Sunday!! He he!

    Lisa
  • Good Morning
    Yippee Skipee! It's Friday!!!!!
They are forcasting a 100% chance of snow tomorrow with the high of 24 degrees!!!!!! Yikes a-mighty! That's friggin cold!
Have to get back to work and complete end of month!
    Be back later, gators!
  • Hello all. Long time no talk. Things are going well here baby-wise. Alex is a joy! He is crying today...but still a joy! WW-wise, I have been maintaining and I really have to be done with that. I have been very bad about snacking all day...but I will stop that! (that is my positive thinking) as I do not fit into any clothes and it is making me mad.

Sorry this is so short. Alex calls. Hello to you all and welcome back to some!

  • I hate my computer.

Yesterday morning, all of my AOL files decided to go corrupt, so we're basically just using AOL to dial up to the internet, then using Internet Explorer. Fine, but I'm paying $23.95 a months for the bells and whistles, darnit! And because the computer's so old, it doesn't seem like there's much chance of fixing it. So I need to explain to the bf that there are cheaper internet providers out there and that perhaps we should seek one out.

I haven't been back to the gym this week. But I've been so sore from the last time we went plus work that I think if I DID go, I'd just do more harm than good. So it's okay, I guess. I've hardly been hungry, so I expect that I'll probably still see some kind of a loss on Tuesday, even if it is a small one.

Lisa, reading that you were getting your eyebrows waxed reminded me of the FIRST time I got mine done.... and how badly it hurt, because I scrunched the skin up under the wax too! They came out looking okay though. I'm sure yours will... and highlights, too... you'll be a new woman!

Kirsty, how'd the tv excursion go?

JenL, sorry to hear about the bad situation at work.

Well, it's almost lunch time, so I think I'm going to go find a can of soup somewhere.
  • Can you believe this? I didn't get to WI last night. I thought I was going to get out of work early, but then a story broke and I ended up here until 9 p.m. I'm hoping I can get to a meeting this evening or perhaps tomorrow morning.

This has been such a LOOOONG week. I'm so ready for it to be over. All I have today is a bond hearing to cover and then hopefully I'll be free. Sometimes I wish I had a different job!

I am surprised though, because I got on my scale this morning and it said 188. 188! That can't be possible. Two days ago it was hovering around 186-187. I hope it was just a fluke, or maybe because I had a margarita last night. Well, half of one. It was pretty awful, very sweet, so I didn't finish it.

Switching topics ... do you know how hard it is to accept not getting a marriage proposal yet when people keep getting engaged around me? I learned yesterday some friends got engaged. I saw an out-of-town friend last night who's getting married in October. There's an engagement party for a co-worker next weekend. All of it is making me feel very sorry for myself. I had hoped to be getting married this October, but now I'm wondering again whether this relationship is going anywhere. I've tried to talk to my boyfriend about it, but I keep getting answers like: "I'm going to ask you." "Be patient." "You're going to get your ring." What the heck is that?

Ah, maybe PMS is setting in.

Gotta go. Have a good day everyone!
  • Hey friends!

How is everyone today? I just got home from work & I'm beat! I'm so glad its the weekend! I don't get to sleep in tomorrow though b/c I have a massage appointment at 9. It's so worth the sleep sacrifice though! Today I'm doing great OP wise! Yay me! Last night I went over my limit by 4 points-darn it (cheesecake!)! Today I din't have very many talkative clients so I spent that time reflecting and reaffirming my goals-always a helpful thing. Right now I'm feeling pretty motivated & ready to handle tomorrow's challenge of eating out with the in-laws.

Tonay, glad to see you made it back safe & sound! Sounds like lots of positive things came about on your trip! Yay for you! Are you ready to settle back into normalcy now?

JenL Sorry to hear about your job stress. Hope things look up soon! I also hope you get those pics of Emma back soon so you can share her sweeetness with us!

Trish, great to hear from you! How the life of a Mommy? You need to post us some pics soon Don't worry you'll get back to losing instead of maintaining.

Kim, sorry to hear about your frustration. I used to think we'd never get engaged either. It only took four years for us! Then we get to have a two year engagement! Crazy! Men just don't get it. I don't see what the big deal is (for guys) when you're already living together-to me its mostly the same thing. I don't know how it works in the states but in Canada you have to pay your taxes together, etc. like married people do. Hope its better for you soon. Hang in there.

Kendra, glad to you dropped by. Sorry to hear about you 'puter. If you're feeling sore from the gym the best thing you can do is get back it. The action helps to move the metabolic wastes out so you don't feel as sore & if you keep going your body never gets the chance to fully go into the DOMS that you're feeling now (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness). Some at home self care that really helps with metabolic waste reduction is taking a warm bath in Epsom Salts & Baking Soda for about ten minutes. You need a cup of each. The Epsom Salts draw the metabolic wastes out of your tissue. The Baking Soda neutralize the acids in the waste so that if you happen to reabsorb the waste it doesn't have any effect on your system. Another thing is to drink tons & tons of water to help flush your system. And of course being a massage therapist, I'm going to reccommend a massage because it helps to clear out the wastes which are making you sore & it realigns any muscle fibers that are stressed from improper form during work out plus it will help with any microtearing of the fibers that sometimes happens from working out. Anyway sorry I'm rambling on & on with unsolicited advice. I'm a helper by nature.

Stacey, Any idea how cold that is in Celcius? Today here it was -40 C. BRRRR! Supposedly by Monday its supposed to be up to +6C! How in the world can it change 47 degrees so fast? Anybody else ever get that? I know Saskatchewan is the place of extreme weather but that's crazy!

Lisa, If you bring Jimmy Fallon home I'm coming over to your place! Hey remember no matter how fun it might seem it is truly wrong to drug someone to get them to go home with you!
Have a great time in New York!

Kirsty, is salmon very "fishy" ? I eat the canned version with Ultra Low Fat Mayo but that's not the same as just eating salmon as a meal. I always think I would like to try it but am afraid I won't like it plus its really expensive to buy just to try. I'm not into fishy seafood. I know that doesn't really make sense but I don't know how else to explain it. Like I don't mind crab or a little bit of shrimp but try to get me to eat oysters or mussels or scallops or sardines & I just can't get past that fishy smell & taste.

Hope you all have a great weekend! Stay OP! Talk to you later

    -Rina
  • Sorry for the Novel!! Would you believe that in real life I'm a Talker?? Who would have guessed!
