Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting and I have a few questions. I'm considering lap band surgery after years of trying to lose weight. I'm tired of being tired and having absolutely no energy to even play with my kids.
How do you mentally get yourself to let go of food?? I mean, I'm so pathetic that I think going to the movies or ANYWHERE is not as fun if food isn't involved. I need to lose that mentality, for it's killing me. How do you let go?
I'm also wondering about the food you eat the first few months after surgery, then 1 yr or more afterwards. I don't mind portion control, but I'd like to have normal food on special occasions (eventually).
I'd also like to hear success stories about long term weight loss. How has your life changed? Does anyone regret getting the surgery?
An other info would be great!
Thanks
i am a week out from band surgery. i am on liquids clear, like ff jello, ff popsicles, broth and protein shakes. i do crave my old favs, but i am not hungary. a few swallows and i am in pain i am so full. i hope to have a great success story for you in a year or two. hope this helps
How to get yourself away/off the food??? I think that's something that is different with everyone. If I go to my MILs house I think about food. Thats because she had taught my so much about cooking. It's like we bonded over food...LOL!!
For me one way that helps me is I came clean about my addiction. Everyone around could see that I was addicted I didn't need to tell them....I needed to tell me!! Then I needed to make up my mind that I have had enough...look at what it did to me.....look what I have allowed it to take away from me!! All of this has helped me alot. I am SICK of it....SICK, SICK, SICK!!!
Blessings to you,
Chrissy
