Success with SlimFast, #14 Jan 26th, 2002

    Are you able to get the protein SlimFast? They don't have it here and I would like to try it. If you have tried it does it taste any different than the regular stuff?
  • Have not seen it yet here. I am not using the shakes right now. I found several kinds of meal replacement bars that I like.
    A few days ago I was in the store lookingg at cookies and really wanting to buy them, I kept saying I really want them but I can't have them. Some of the other customers must have thought I was nuts! I ended up geting a little snack size package. If I'd bought the ones I was looking at I'd have eaten them all in two nights. I'm glad I didn't give in to it. I really wanted those cookies!

  • I use several kinds. They are prety much all the same nutritionally but here are the ones I think tast the best.
    Power bar, Harvest variety: Toffee chocolate chip, cherry, apple, Banana nut.
    Jenny craig: lemmon merange( a bit too sweet)Caremel, peanut crisp.
    Sam's Club(Wal-Mart)So far I like them all and they are only .79
    Luna bar lemmon zest.
    I like the shakes in the summer but I just don't want cold meals in the winter so I use the bars. Also I think they are to me just an aid in my overalll weight loss plan and I don't really follow the plan of any of them.
    I try different ones and buy the ones I really like. Most brands only have a few flavors and I like only one or two so I like being able to get a few different kinds in several flavors. It gives me more variety instead of eating the same few things day after day. I think it makes it easier to stay on the diet.

    That veggie stir fry is sure doing me a lot of good! I lost almost fifteen pounds since last week. I stuck to it prety well latley and I guess I'd better keep it up if this is the result. Hope you are all doing ok, miss you all. Whish you'd post.

    This thread has always been slow. Not much to say I guess.

    Any ideas on keeping it going?

    I have had SlimFast for breakfast but since I have eaten out for lunch the last three days I haven't had any dinner. I figure eating out I picked up more calories that necessary.

    I have walked for two days - not much but a start. Baby Steps....

  • Ok I have told so many about this I lost track of where i posted it.
    For the past few weeks I've been doing this stir fried veggi salad.
    Some friends of minr tought me about it and they got it from a dr.
    First portins.
    on your plate you should do 1\4 meat, 1\4 pasta or some other carb, and 1\2 veggies. if you want secounds eat only the veggies.
    Now the stir fry. Take several kinds of veggies that you like. Pick the darkest colors you can and have lots of green ones.
    I use: Green cabbage, red cabbage, and just all kinds of things including spinach. I usuall mix about 6 kinds. The bulk of it is the cabbage as it is cheap.
    put all into a big pot or wok. Add 1\4 cup lowfat or non fat itallian dressin or make your own vinigrette. Stir fry to prefered doneness. We like ours a little on the crisp side. Eat as much as you want.
    To really speed the metabolism try adding as much hot sauce as you can tolorate.
    Eat some of the veggies first as the digest slower and you will stay full a lot longer. Pluss you don't get that grogy sleepy feeling.

  • THANKS..sounds good. AND a bonus I love got food...the hotter the better. I have some Chinese hot sauce that can almost make you fly....I was wondering how I would use it all.
  • I've been told that spicy or just hot temp food is good for the metabolism I've been eating a lot of spicy food these days.
    I don't know why this thread is so slow either. Mabey people just give up when they cant shed the pounds as fast as they hoped. It is so much work and takes so much determination and self discipline. I'm glad you are still sticking with it. I'll promise to keep posting if you will.
