  • For me it took 2 months to lose 3.4 lbs?
I am just wondering how long it took us to do it. I can see your tickers and goals that you met, but I don't know how long it took you?
    For example,
    6 weeks 6 lbs
    2 weeks 0 lbs
    or
in july i lost 4 but in august i lost 10

    something like that.
    Let me know.
  • July 12 lbs.
    August 11 lbs
    September 9 lbs
October 6 lbs (but I went on a wine-n-dine vacation for 9 days)
I definitely seem to be slowing down now that I have lost almost 40 lbs. My current goals are to still lose 5-8 lbs for Nov. & December.
  • May - 15 lb
    June 2 lb
July-September 0 lb got lazy during the summer
    October 10 lb
Got back on track last month and things seem to be going well. I have a feeling the rate will slow as I lose more.
  • I'm averaging about 10lbs a month.
  • Wow all of you have lost some SERIOUS weight!!!! You are doing awesome, keep it coming this is really motivating, don't you think?
  • Vixjean, that's interesting. I don't remember how much I lost per month. I was aiming for about 5 pounds, I lost somewhere between 5-10 per month typically.
There were a few months in a row when I lost almost 10 each month, and then some months when I lost about 5. Later there where months when I didn't lose anything, and months when I gained. It's such an individual process. You've lost 3 lbs, which means you are definitely doing things right! Keep it up!
  • I started my own diet plan about 7 weeks ago, and I have lost roughly 13/14 pounds.
  • When I'm on a roll, I lose about 10 lbs a month on average--definitely more in the beginning. I've lost 8 in the last 2 weeks (I'm guessing most of this was water weight) and would like to lose 8 more by Thanksgiving weekend.

My starting weight: 186. Current weight: 177. Goal weight for mid-January: 146.
  • Summer : zilch
    September: 1.2 lbs
    October: 3.4 lbs

And last semester (january to late mayish) I lost roughly 9 lbs. I gained a couple back over the summer.
  • I averaged 1 pound a week for three years straight.
  • I have had issues with yo-yo dieting in the past and would gain and lose weight quickly. This past summer I decided to make a lifestyle change and although I have lost weight more slowly, I have maintained or made progress the entire time.

I have lost around 3-4 lbs. a month.
  • in about a month and a half i have lost around 5.5 lbs. i was aiming for 1lb a week- seems to be that slower is more likely to stick. i also had 2 weeks of plateau durring that time.

the first time i lost weight i did it far too fast. i kept it off but only through slowly adjusting my metabolism back to normal ( over about 2 years)..don't worry about it coming off slowly. it's good to eat about 300 calories a day less than your basil metabolic rate ( your weight with a zero on the end-- mine is 1510 is your bmr, - 300 = around 1200)
  • I've lost 4 pounds in about 5 weeks...it's not much but it's better than nothing!

Slow and steady wins the race!
  • Well, I started back on seriously trying to shift a few kilos back to my "comfortable" weight and to get my body fat % down only about 6 weeks ago (when my boyfriend and I broke up - spring clean time!)

The first week of eating average 1400 I dropped 1kg (2.2pds)

For the next month I ever so achingly slowly dropped another half kilo or so (about a pound) but my BF% went down a whole point.

This last week I have dropped a whoping 2kgs (just under 5 pounds) - I was sick for a couple of days but my body seems to have finally decided to shift the weight. I don't expect to drop that much again any time soon!

My weight comes off slowly because I am not looking to lose all that much more. It's a case of patience is a virtue!
  • I've lost 26lbs since March, which averages only about 3.25lbs per month. However I'm never steadily losing. I usually plateau for a month or two, then drop 2-3lbs in one weekend all of the sudden.
