Not much time to post -- dh is behind me breathing fire as we speak (we share an office which is very shortly to change).
Another beautiful, mild day in Tiny Town. Is this heaven? No! It's IOWA! (I'm thinking I NEED A LIFE!)
I can't remember who (sorry!) -- but someone mentioned on the board yesterday about being a SAHM -- I did that and am here to commiserate w/you and fix you a nice, hot cup of tea! Staying home w/my kids and being a homemaker was the hardest thing I've ever done -- but worth every ounce of patience and endurance it took. Your post reminded me of the time I was "hiding" in the bathroom reading an Erma Bombeck book (about hiding from the kids in the bathroom -- I HIGHLY recommend her books for SAHM's) while my kids were running through the house yelling "Momma, Momma!" while I stayed quietly, quietly turning pages and prayed for just 2 more minutes of peace! My husband is a salesman and travels extensively so I had some of that too. About ten years ago a friend from college and I started taking a long weekend trip every spring (the only time I could sandwich in between dh's work and hunting) in a little town in Missouri. We eat out, shop, watch movies, take a day trip to some new, exotic place (you know, like Hannibal, MO) and talk and laugh until our faces hurt. It worked for me (and still does). I looked forward to it every year and it was just enough to get me through those swinging from the ceiling fan moments Peach mentioned. Keep us posted!
Oh, and
Chickadee -- my tree is looking so gorgeous today that I'm thinking, no, I'm firmly convinced that I should leave it up all year...as a matter of fact, I've found an online service that has seasonal lights and ornaments for each and every holiday. As we speak, I'm sending off for hearts and teeny tiny chocolate roses for Valentine's Day -- if you ask me REALLY nicely, I'll post a picture for you!
Have a great afternoon, chicks!
